I ask that from genuine curiosity because I was under the impression it had little or no effect all. At least on value.

FS version is different, it has cleaner deep white colour than the Play version, and less of the dark 'whoosh' colours as it travels in warp speed!

That's why I own it and not the Play edition, plus I'm a trekkie fan.

How is this still happening? If the UK grail isn't safe what is? This feels like I am being kicked in the nuts and robbed. The word exclusive has no meaning to greedy economists. I can kind of understand a re-release with different art work but this is a joke. People act like buying steelbooks is the only way to watch a blu disc these days. You missed it, so what go buy the amaray.

Agreed, re-releases are no better than reproductions (imo). It kills my zest to collect.

While some people dont even open them to actually use the disc and put them in a bag on a shelf - go figure....

Maybe the UK saw how people were desperate to pay $150 (Canadian) for the FS version, that they wanted in on the deal, and put out their own artwork which looks similar to the FS version, and lowered the price.

I just wish this was Region Free, but I purchased it anyways because I missed out on the Futureshop one, but I'm not paying $150 for it.

this is wat happens when a Certain group / s of Aquireres are only interested in Value rather than the Steel book ,.....

this was never a "Grail" , so who ever is trying to maintain the Hype is basically pi##ing against the wind

I think this is great for the New & Old True Collectors , as they can now get a Carbon Copy , less 2 BS feature discs , and actually Open it and appreciate what it is

a Great Movie , and Stop worrying about Worth all the time

The first one costs someone a fortune if they want to get hold of a steel. The second one doesn't.

Your forgetting the most important part. It devalues all the rare ones we collected over the years to the point that selling off the collection would make a person never collect steelbooks again.

Really, that's the most important part?
If its to do with money get yourself a nice ISA account and put money into that!
I'm getting this as no doubt there will be a steelbook for the new film and it will be nice to match them in some way.

this is a real shame for all collectors but a sealed one in my collection was one i felt eluded me so im happy....but only this once zavvi play nice

Personally I think it's great as it enables more collectors to own a copy of a holy grail.

We all know this will never be worth as much as the original and for most of us it now means we get to own a steelbook for a great film. The real collector aren't going to be bothered as they will still want the original because it is still the original.

Steelbook collecting is different is every person. Every person has their own value of steelbooks. Personally, I wanted avengers phase 1 so I spent £30 on iron man 1 & £35 on Thor to get them. Do I regret it?- no, would I do it again? Defiently. If they were re released tomorrow I would be glad as it would mean more collectors would be able to own them. It won't really de value my collection as I always open & watch mine & I would always know that mine were the originals.

A few people will be annoyed at this but they then have to ask themselves why. Do they regret paying big money for the original? If so, why? It's still the "holy grail" and if we get millions re releases, it will still be the original. Nothing can change that.
