I'm a little confused, was the Zavvi version originally this white version, and now they've changed them all to the Chris Pine black cover, or if you pre-ordered early enough was the white version available through Zavvi? Also, is the original Star Trek steelbook a future shop release?

Really like this artwork, plan to pre-order.

I have no idea man. The white version was available for a while, but than a new one (black one) was placed instead. Also, the product page for the white one is removed from Zavvi, while the product page for Roger Rabbit still exists (although it's sold out). And Roger Rabbit took much longer to sell out than the white version. Finding Nemo isn't even sold out yet.

So my guess is, there is no white Zavvi version. Probably a mistake listing / picture. They listed the wrong artwork with the Batman releases, and it sold out way too fast.

I thought so in the first place; zavvi changed their Star Trek cover art from white one to black. Many people say, however, there are two different versions of zavvi exclusive Star Trek and the white one was briefly available for pre-order and then sold out quickly. Anyway, I pre-ordered it because this one seems to be the only option I have.

Is this likely to be available through another retailer? Don't want to order through amazon JP..
I missed the zavvi release (skipped it, actually) and I think it's hurting my stomach now to have done that :(

Researcher bro, Why you do not want to order from amazon JP. I know shipping charges are bit high (2100 Yen) for India, But parcels always come via DHL, and you will receive it 2, max 3 working days for sure.

Is it because of packing ? Because I have ordered 3 steels from there till now, and all 3 have arrived in normal package. But no damage luckily.

Its not the packaging Crossbow - I hate coughing up customs when I'm importing within the limit. Had to pay almost half the value of the steel in customs recently, and shipping costs are very very expensive. Not sure what to do :(

Ya agree with that and shipping cost is expensive. DHL's fee only is some 350 bucks, if parcel gets stuck in customs and they clear it.

So that should be the reason for more duty. I also had to pay some 850 bucks deposit on Pulp fiction steelbook, actual duty was some 400 bucks only, additional charges were of DHL's and customs forms and agent fees.

But that has happened only once out of 3 times.

Only reason I I liked is I received steelbook in flat 2 days. In case of TDKR steel, it was next day. I was like WhatdafookdidIsee !!

i don't know what you exactly mean, do you have a link of the manga product thing? So if I order a cheap manga product thing, shipping will be cheaper?

Manga is japanese comics/graphic novels, which some people collect.
I just wanted to mention that Amazon.co.jp has really cheap shipping for manga sets which are usually really expensive to ship internationally because they're so heavy.
So if you collect manga, you can buy a set and only get charged 3,000Y to ship the set. And you can add a steelbook to your order and shipping would only increase by 300Y.
So shipping would be relatively cheap if you were already planning to collect manga.

Just read the thread above and confirm that adding extra items adds an extra 300 yen. I cancelled my other steel orders and just grouped them up as one.

I heard Amazon.co.jp packaging isn't great....I remember someone telling me if you order steels with them you should have it gift wrap because they'll use more protection.

I presume Zavvi just wanted to be first to get these up. In which case they just shoved any artwork on there untiol the proper artwork was obtained.

Thats what I did last night with a preorder. Preordered Dredd and Star Trek, everything after 1 adds 300 yen. 2000 yen to ship 1, 2300 to ship 2, 2600 to ship 3.

FIRST POST!

After your tip I gift-wrapped 2 of 3 steels. There is also an amaray in there. Hopefully that'll do.

When you get them to gift wrap a steelbook, all they do is put it inside a colourful envelope with a ribbon on it. There's no extra protection.

Actually, now that I think about my last mass order, they will take the 4 items, wrap them together against a larger piece of cardboard the size of the inside of the shipping box, and send them that way. Gift-wrapping probably won't do any good unless the envelope helps.

Ordered with a few others. Missed out on the zavvi re-release, a slip would make this killer :)

Ordered
Although i hate whats going on around this time. To much Re-Releases

But i missed Skyfall.jp so ive to order t his instead

a box is extra protection. Otherwise they don't send it in a box unless you hit their shipping lottery and they actually bundle your items together.
