NEW UPDATE 8/13/2013:

We have a short update on the finish details for our 2 exclusive Star Trek Into Darkness steelbooks. Both the steelbook in the Villain Edition and the Hero Edition steelbook will have debossed title treatments and be matte finishes. We had some fantastic ideas for the ***8220;special packaging***8221; we promised for the Hero Edition, but unfortunately the time constraints of turning this around in just over a month before the release date meant that none of them were possible. The Entertainment Store exclusive sticker that has been on our previous releases will be on these releases too, and we can only apologise for being able to make the Hero Edition special rather than extra special.

All is not lost though ***8211; some of the special packaging we had planned for Star Trek Into Darkness will be present on our next release, which we will be announcing exclusively via HDN on Tuesday 20th August. You won***8217;t be disappointed, I promise!

The limited edition Steelbooks are limited to 4,000 copies each, and will be available to Pre-order from The Entertainment Store on Play.com from midday Friday July 19th 2013.

Since its arrival in March 2013 The Entertainment Store has been working closely with Paramount Home Entertainment and have already teamed up to bring us exclusive Blu Ray SKUs such as GI Joe and Hansel and Gretel but this latest batch of releases look to be the most interesting yet. The E-tailer distributes product directly from the Studio warehouses so the product is guaranteed as authentic and of the highest quality.

I decided to follow suit with some other people and cancel this in favour of the amazon version. I really liked this artwork, but don't think I can justify the extra £8 for the 3d and artwork, there is too much coming out and every little helps lol

Sorry gotta disagree with you here, I'm lovin this front art more than any of the others, unless the saturn (NL?) version keeps that temporary art

I don't want the 3D disc, but I want a space to put the DVD in. If it's 2D and 3D on one disc then I'll just get the Amazon version instead.

It better not be 3D and 2D on one disk!
Most time both versions suffer PQ.

UK alone has three different print runs, so if u assume the amazon one is also 4k like ES (which seems too low for amazon) then u got at least 12,000 Into Darkness steels just in the UK :movie:

and "Exclusive" art makes no difference to most potential buyers, if they can get another one almost as good for less money :movie:

I will deffo make my money back there will be no loss of money as it will sell out so I can resell for £30 easily to recoup fees and delivery.

What do you guys think will be 'special' about this version?

I'm hoping for embossing, border and gloss but that's not too special as we have seen it before (Argo).

I have it on pre order but not sure if I can justify spending £25 on a film I haven't seen yet and I'll only buy this version if it truly is something unique (special) otherwise ill have to go with the amazon one
