Old Updates & infos:
NEW UPDATE 8/13/2013:
We have a short update on the finish details for our 2 exclusive Star Trek Into Darkness steelbooks. Both the steelbook in the Villain Edition and the Hero Edition steelbook will have debossed title treatments and be matte finishes. We had some fantastic ideas for the ***8220;special packaging***8221; we promised for the Hero Edition, but unfortunately the time constraints of turning this around in just over a month before the release date meant that none of them were possible. The Entertainment Store exclusive sticker that has been on our previous releases will be on these releases too, and we can only apologise for being able to make the Hero Edition special rather than extra special.

All is not lost though ***8211; some of the special packaging we had planned for Star Trek Into Darkness will be present on our next release, which we will be announcing exclusively via HDN on Tuesday 20th August. You won***8217;t be disappointed, I promise!

PREVIOUS UPDATE:
A stunning 2D and 3D blu-ray plus digital copy steelbook. Limited to 4,000 copies and available exclusively from The Entertainment Store. Finish, embossing, release date and pricing TBC, but we have really special plans for the packaging.

Original infos:From our friends at Entertainment Store in the UK:
The Entertainment Store Boldly goes where other E-tailers cannot

The fastest growing Entertainment E-tailer on the Marketplace, The Entertainment Store, continues its strong exclusive packaging offering in September 2013 with the introduction of 2 2D and 3D Blu Ray Steelbooks for Star Trek: Into Darkness Home Entertainment release.

The limited edition Steelbooks are limited to 4,000 copies each, and will be available to Pre-order from The Entertainment Store on Play.com from midday Friday July 19th 2013.

Since its arrival in March 2013 The Entertainment Store has been working closely with Paramount Home Entertainment and have already teamed up to bring us exclusive Blu Ray SKUs such as GI Joe and Hansel and Gretel but this latest batch of releases look to be the most interesting yet. The E-tailer distributes product directly from the Studio warehouses so the product is guaranteed as authentic and of the highest quality.

I'm new to this forum and was wondering what has to happen to be able to enter a group buy? for future reference, cheers

Woah! Was really looking forward to an exclusive steelbook run on this title, wish it wasn't quite so expensive - ES will only keep hiking up the prices if everyone keeps buying.

I'm not really bothered about 3D discs, but then again selling my Prometheus 3D disc and DC paid for most of the steelbook, and I bet I get a decent amount putting this disc up for sale on day 1 too.

Ermmmm.... you know this is their cheapest steelbook to date don't you?

I think this is the best looking steelbook. Still getting the French phaser edition but will switch over the steels and watch the French one and store this version with the phaser instead :ohno:

Cheapest doesn't mean cheap though.

I agree but they didn't hike the price up. In fact they brought it down (only marginally). Compared to the Amazon one this one is reasonable as it has the 3d and only a pound more than Zavvi's Iron Man 3.

It seems the price of steels are rising in general. :(

Isn't that just inflation?? I know these steels are expensive, however, if you look at the cost of buying a steel from the US, Canada, mainland Europe with postage, aren't the costs similar?? I don't think this is a UK specific issue, it is happening worldwide. If we want the cheapest versions of a film then we buy the Amarays but if we want nice shiny premium versions then unfortunately this comes at a price....

You don't actually get an order confirmation from Play now. You're lucky if you get one to say its on its way, so I wouldn't worry, Tobjodajes. Just look at your account. Hope this helps. And, yes, love the Enterprise cover the best!

It's true but the quality and content included for the rising prices are a sliding too.

However back on topic. For me this is the best design out of the 3. If the special packaging is a full slip then I hope it's worth it as I wouldn't want the cover to be covered up but a worse design.
