Old Updates & infos:
NEW UPDATE 8/13/2013:
We have a short update on the finish details for our 2 exclusive Star Trek Into Darkness steelbooks. Both the steelbook in the Villain Edition and the Hero Edition steelbook will have debossed title treatments and be matte finishes. We had some fantastic ideas for the ***8220;special packaging***8221; we promised for the Hero Edition, but unfortunately the time constraints of turning this around in just over a month before the release date meant that none of them were possible. The Entertainment Store exclusive sticker that has been on our previous releases will be on these releases too, and we can only apologise for being able to make the Hero Edition special rather than extra special.

All is not lost though ***8211; some of the special packaging we had planned for Star Trek Into Darkness will be present on our next release, which we will be announcing exclusively via HDN on Tuesday 20th August. You won***8217;t be disappointed, I promise!

PREVIOUS UPDATE:
A stunning 2D and 3D blu-ray plus digital copy steelbook. Limited to 4,000 copies and available exclusively from The Entertainment Store. Finish, embossing, release date and pricing TBC, but we have really special plans for the packaging.

Original infos:From our friends at Entertainment Store in the UK:
The Entertainment Store Boldly goes where other E-tailers cannot

The fastest growing Entertainment E-tailer on the Marketplace, The Entertainment Store, continues its strong exclusive packaging offering in September 2013 with the introduction of 2 2D and 3D Blu Ray Steelbooks for Star Trek: Into Darkness Home Entertainment release.

The limited edition Steelbooks are limited to 4,000 copies each, and will be available to Pre-order from The Entertainment Store on Play.com from midday Friday July 19th 2013.

Since its arrival in March 2013 The Entertainment Store has been working closely with Paramount Home Entertainment and have already teamed up to bring us exclusive Blu Ray SKUs such as GI Joe and Hansel and Gretel but this latest batch of releases look to be the most interesting yet. The E-tailer distributes product directly from the Studio warehouses so the product is guaranteed as authentic and of the highest quality.

Yeah I think that's because some folks have had their credit cards declined.

Great, my orders been cancelled. Won't be reordering, or doing business with these clowns again. There's no way they're posting them today, so why try to take the money this early?

They usually ship the week before release (which is also why I cancelled mine - can't afford it this early).

Because they are charged upon processing, which is pretty much now. This isn't early to be charged at all.

Hansel and Gretel, 3 months before release - now THAT was early.

It's been stated about a million times since ES started releasing Steelbooks that they charge one week before release date. It's your own fault if you didn't have the funds to fulfil the order when they tried to charge you for it. It's hilarious that you call them clowns when it is your own error.

I haven't ordered a previous steelbook from them. I see no mention on their page or in my order, or in the email they sent me, or in the op here that they would take money this early. There's no reason to charge this early, they won't be dispatching the item today because there's no post.

You've been collecting long enough to know that retailers charge early. It's not as if your error is going to cost you. It seems a lot of others have been caught out too, so you can still order if you want it. As for whether or not they are dispatching today, just because Royal Mail don't work on a Bank Holiday, doesn't mean that ES don't. There's no reason why they wouldn't start processing orders now to ensure that people get this by next Monday, most would consider that good service.

agree

and re-listing the failed charges so early is taking the piss big time

Wouldn't worry they have 362 available at the moment, you should have enough time to grab one before it goes again!!

I've never had a company process an order this early. The earliest I've ever had a payment taken for a Monday delivery, is the previous Wednesday. I don't consider it good service for them to try and take money from my account several days before they need it. It's no loss, the artwork isn't exclusive anymore anyway, I can get the same steelbook elsewhere.

If someone has gone through the trouble of pre ordering an item from a retailer, the least the retailer can do is notify the customer of the failed payment and give them an option to submit another payment. That would be good customer service and sale would most likely be made as most do not pre order items they do not want.

Amazon does this and its one of the primary reasons they have such a huge fan base. Understanding the needs of the consumer and giving them a wide range of options when shopping through them. Other retailers take note

Yep they took my money today £125 for the ship v- edition and 3x steelbooks but I had the money sitting and waiting it's ES's mo to go in a week early it helps them get items here on or close to the release date unlike other retailers who sometimes have the stock but only process the items a day b4 the release meaning in reality they leave the warehouse on the release day and you will get them some 2-3 days after the release date.
