Old Updates & infos:
NEW UPDATE 8/13/2013:
We have a short update on the finish details for our 2 exclusive Star Trek Into Darkness steelbooks. Both the steelbook in the Villain Edition and the Hero Edition steelbook will have debossed title treatments and be matte finishes. We had some fantastic ideas for the ***8220;special packaging***8221; we promised for the Hero Edition, but unfortunately the time constraints of turning this around in just over a month before the release date meant that none of them were possible. The Entertainment Store exclusive sticker that has been on our previous releases will be on these releases too, and we can only apologise for being able to make the Hero Edition special rather than extra special.

All is not lost though ***8211; some of the special packaging we had planned for Star Trek Into Darkness will be present on our next release, which we will be announcing exclusively via HDN on Tuesday 20th August. You won***8217;t be disappointed, I promise!

PREVIOUS UPDATE:
A stunning 2D and 3D blu-ray plus digital copy steelbook. Limited to 4,000 copies and available exclusively from The Entertainment Store. Finish, embossing, release date and pricing TBC, but we have really special plans for the packaging.

Original infos:From our friends at Entertainment Store in the UK:
The Entertainment Store Boldly goes where other E-tailers cannot

The fastest growing Entertainment E-tailer on the Marketplace, The Entertainment Store, continues its strong exclusive packaging offering in September 2013 with the introduction of 2 2D and 3D Blu Ray Steelbooks for Star Trek: Into Darkness Home Entertainment release.

The limited edition Steelbooks are limited to 4,000 copies each, and will be available to Pre-order from The Entertainment Store on Play.com from midday Friday July 19th 2013.

Since its arrival in March 2013 The Entertainment Store has been working closely with Paramount Home Entertainment and have already teamed up to bring us exclusive Blu Ray SKUs such as GI Joe and Hansel and Gretel but this latest batch of releases look to be the most interesting yet. The E-tailer distributes product directly from the Studio warehouses so the product is guaranteed as authentic and of the highest quality.

Well mine has been cancelled. For some reason that boggles the mind, they tried to take payment off a card which is NOT set as my default payment method on my play.com account.

To further cement this error, they also changed the card type from Visa to Delta so that the secondary card would not work in any event!

Of course, errors occur which is why most retailers will give you a period of grace to alter payment incase of human error.

And it's sold out so no chance of re-ordering.

A tad disappointing to say the least. Anyone used their customer services know if they are good at rectifying errors?

It's not sold out, still shows 300+ available.

There customer service is supposed to be very gd I've never had to deal with them and I have every release so far.
You may want to contact them to make sure things are clearer in the future and prevent it from happening again but right now I would suggest you would be quicker to just re-order ASAP.
Def contact them to fix any future errors though that's my opinion anyway

Play's payments system does seem a bit haphazard, so I'm not surprised there are so many declines. As others have said, there really ought to have a system in place whereby they notify the customer of any problems before scrubbing orders. Not only is it common courtesy to do that, it's standard practice with most reputable online retailers, i.e. don't flick the finger at your customers at the first opportunity!

If someone has gone through the trouble of pre ordering an item from a retailer, the least the retailer can do is notify the customer of the failed payment and give them an option to submit another payment. That would be good customer service and sale would most likely be made as most do not pre order items they do not want.

Amazon does this and its one of the primary reasons they have such a huge fan base. Understanding the needs of the consumer and giving them a wide range of options when shopping through them. Other retailers take note

um, I got delayed item emails that state the items are on hold (for now) and to go to the site and amend payment/try again

+1 They should make the effort to fix the issue instead of just relisting but I suppose from all they know the card or the transaction has been cancelled.

If they knew there was a payment problem rather than a payment/card cancellation then things could be a lot easier but i'm not sure they can make that distinction but I don't know. :dunno:

As for play's payment issues I would also agree I've noticed issues with other purchases also the TCB not going through and play points not being rewarded in these regards play.com is "haphazard" to say the least. :(

exactly.
Plus, where's the harm is giving people a few days to re-try paying. Then, come the end of the week, or even release day, if there are still issues, then fine, re-list away!

Not trying to pee on your bad luck but as there are a few back in stock - if anyone needs a copy still I'll accept late comers in my GB...

Not enough money In my account until payday on Wednesday and at the bottom of the email I received was this

:- So you don't miss out and to get your order to you as soon as possible, we have reserved any Play.com items you have ordered, and will dispatch them as soon as we can process your card. Unfortunately any PlayTrade items or Play.com Tickets you ordered could not be reserved, but may still be available for purchase on the site.

Wonder if this means my copy is being held

The number of copies available is dropping fast! It's now sub-250, so if you guys want a copy then now is the time to be putting in an order!

G.I Joe has been in stock for a long time due to high print runs. It will sell out if they drop the price to 19.99.

Star Trek will eventually sell out but it will be available aplenty in eBay and if you are lucky you might even grab one at a lower price.;)
