Old Updates & infos:
NEW UPDATE 8/13/2013:
We have a short update on the finish details for our 2 exclusive Star Trek Into Darkness steelbooks. Both the steelbook in the Villain Edition and the Hero Edition steelbook will have debossed title treatments and be matte finishes. We had some fantastic ideas for the ***8220;special packaging***8221; we promised for the Hero Edition, but unfortunately the time constraints of turning this around in just over a month before the release date meant that none of them were possible. The Entertainment Store exclusive sticker that has been on our previous releases will be on these releases too, and we can only apologise for being able to make the Hero Edition special rather than extra special.

All is not lost though ***8211; some of the special packaging we had planned for Star Trek Into Darkness will be present on our next release, which we will be announcing exclusively via HDN on Tuesday 20th August. You won***8217;t be disappointed, I promise!

PREVIOUS UPDATE:
A stunning 2D and 3D blu-ray plus digital copy steelbook. Limited to 4,000 copies and available exclusively from The Entertainment Store. Finish, embossing, release date and pricing TBC, but we have really special plans for the packaging.

Original infos:From our friends at Entertainment Store in the UK:
The Entertainment Store Boldly goes where other E-tailers cannot

The fastest growing Entertainment E-tailer on the Marketplace, The Entertainment Store, continues its strong exclusive packaging offering in September 2013 with the introduction of 2 2D and 3D Blu Ray Steelbooks for Star Trek: Into Darkness Home Entertainment release.

The limited edition Steelbooks are limited to 4,000 copies each, and will be available to Pre-order from The Entertainment Store on Play.com from midday Friday July 19th 2013.

Since its arrival in March 2013 The Entertainment Store has been working closely with Paramount Home Entertainment and have already teamed up to bring us exclusive Blu Ray SKUs such as GI Joe and Hansel and Gretel but this latest batch of releases look to be the most interesting yet. The E-tailer distributes product directly from the Studio warehouses so the product is guaranteed as authentic and of the highest quality.

I'm liking the vibrant orange and blue colours. Just a shame it wasn't debossed and glossy.

Oh well, I think it still looks good.

Not sure if it justifies what I paid for it though.

wow..... those pictures look awesome (i was hoping it was gonna look crap so i could save some money) im just poppin over to play.com to snag one of the remaining ones:thumbs:

So how can we take ES seriously anymore when they don't know embossing from debossing??

Seems we can't. First no special packaging cause not enough time...could live with that.
But now this?
The Steelbook looks nice, just disappointed to see there is a border and the title is embossed instead of debossed like it was announced.
Will probably be my last ES Steelbook.

Nearly every single Paramount release has a border and embossed title, it was obvious this one would too.

Hmmm, this is disappointing. Yet again a steelbook that is entirely different from what was advertised. Now we're stuck with a border on artwork that doesn't suit it.

I like it, personally. But I can see how a gloss finish with no border would enhance it.

Except we were promised that there wouldn't be...

It was promised to be debossed and not embossed. If you think it was obvious that despite saying otherwise that it would be embossed with a border, can you please lend me your 'plucked from thin air' crystal ball?

As it happens, I really really like this and think it looks beautiful - but it's still not what we thought it would be.

understandable but i think others and myself dont like to be lied to. This is clearly lying when a product information contains "debossed title treatment" and it comes embossed... not saying it doesnt look good cause i like it a lot but...
