Old Updates & infos:
NEW UPDATE 8/13/2013:
We have a short update on the finish details for our 2 exclusive Star Trek Into Darkness steelbooks. Both the steelbook in the Villain Edition and the Hero Edition steelbook will have debossed title treatments and be matte finishes. We had some fantastic ideas for the ***8220;special packaging***8221; we promised for the Hero Edition, but unfortunately the time constraints of turning this around in just over a month before the release date meant that none of them were possible. The Entertainment Store exclusive sticker that has been on our previous releases will be on these releases too, and we can only apologise for being able to make the Hero Edition special rather than extra special.

All is not lost though ***8211; some of the special packaging we had planned for Star Trek Into Darkness will be present on our next release, which we will be announcing exclusively via HDN on Tuesday 20th August. You won***8217;t be disappointed, I promise!

PREVIOUS UPDATE:
A stunning 2D and 3D blu-ray plus digital copy steelbook. Limited to 4,000 copies and available exclusively from The Entertainment Store. Finish, embossing, release date and pricing TBC, but we have really special plans for the packaging.

Original infos:From our friends at Entertainment Store in the UK:
The Entertainment Store Boldly goes where other E-tailers cannot

The fastest growing Entertainment E-tailer on the Marketplace, The Entertainment Store, continues its strong exclusive packaging offering in September 2013 with the introduction of 2 2D and 3D Blu Ray Steelbooks for Star Trek: Into Darkness Home Entertainment release.

The limited edition Steelbooks are limited to 4,000 copies each, and will be available to Pre-order from The Entertainment Store on Play.com from midday Friday July 19th 2013.

Since its arrival in March 2013 The Entertainment Store has been working closely with Paramount Home Entertainment and have already teamed up to bring us exclusive Blu Ray SKUs such as GI Joe and Hansel and Gretel but this latest batch of releases look to be the most interesting yet. The E-tailer distributes product directly from the Studio warehouses so the product is guaranteed as authentic and of the highest quality.

Except we were promised that there wouldn't be...

It was promised to be debossed and not embossed. If you think it was obvious that despite saying otherwise that it would be embossed with a border, can you please lend me your 'plucked from thin air' crystal ball?

As it happens, I really really like this and think it looks beautiful - but it's still not what we thought it would be.

I always expected this based on the fact that Paramount have never released a debossed Steelbook in the UK and based on the last few Steelbooks they have released. You don't need a crystal ball, just a bit of common sense. I think a lot of members love situations like this because it gives them chance to moan which is the favourite pastime of quite a few members here.

Precisely.

To be fair, this does look good from the photos so far and Paramount rarely let us down with their steelbooks. I just hate when wrong info is posted and it's starting to happen more and more these days in general.

^ I totally agree.

the previous update stated it would have embossing (A stunning 2D and 3D blu-ray plus digital copy steelbook. Limited to 4,000 copies and available exclusively from The Entertainment Store. Finish, embossing, release date and pricing TBC, but we have really special plans for the packaging).

So i was happy, but wasn't happy when the new update stated it would be debossed (ES could of meant embossed and used the wrong word) with a matte finish. So in the end i'm over the moon with the embossed title and boader and the bloody postman better bring mine tomorrow.

Spot on mate. Totally agree with everything you said.

^Well said  & thanks for pointing out what was stated in the original update by ES. The subsequent update about the title being debossed was a simple error so hopefully those nit picking & grumbling about the title not being debossed can stop moaning now.

Embossing is much better anyway.

All those old high gloss Steelbooks for £10.99 from Play.com are starting to look like bargains (War Of The Worlds, Collateral etc...)

I don't know why they won't stick on an extra coat of paint on a Steelbook nowadays?!!

I know a lot of people prefer the matt finish. But they're a dime a dozen, and I love a good glossy Steelbook (incase you hadn't noticed!! :p)

It's not fair to say people are 'moaning' if they misread the wrong information because the OP was never amended :dunno:

Myself being one of them.

Got mine in hand. Debossed frame and embossed title. UK and Ireland certifcate information is attached with an easy-peal sticker separate from the J Card stuck directly to the steelbook itself.

Picture was snapped on my phone while dashing out the door, so apologies for the quality.

Thanks for taking the time to add a pic to the thread-I look forward to receiving mine even more, now.:D

I'm liking the pics posted this far, makes me even more pleased that I opted for this artwork and not any of the other ones :scat:

Cheers!

Come on, the latest update a few weeks ago (these will have most likely been manufactured by then too, or at least the final sample known) stated ''debossed'' title treatment.

Okay, so it may have been a mistake but that's not the point. When you publish information, it should be proofed for any mistakes to stop this kind of thing happening.

Also, I hardly see any grumbling/moaning going on here, just people posting that what has been sent as being different to what was advertised. I don't see a big fuss (cancelled orders, etc) being thrown around here either.

Now I just hope mine comes tomorrow, haven't seen the film as of yet.

Hey guys, I don't have this in hand yet, as I was in the group buy. Is the title 'inset' meaning lower than the rest of the Steel,or is the title 'raised' above the rest of the Steel?
