NEW UPDATE 8/13/2013:

We have a short update on the finish details for our 2 exclusive Star Trek Into Darkness steelbooks. Both the steelbook in the Villain Edition and the Hero Edition steelbook will have debossed title treatments and be matte finishes. We had some fantastic ideas for the ***8220;special packaging***8221; we promised for the Hero Edition, but unfortunately the time constraints of turning this around in just over a month before the release date meant that none of them were possible. The Entertainment Store exclusive sticker that has been on our previous releases will be on these releases too, and we can only apologise for being able to make the Hero Edition special rather than extra special.

All is not lost though ***8211; some of the special packaging we had planned for Star Trek Into Darkness will be present on our next release, which we will be announcing exclusively via HDN on Tuesday 20th August. You won***8217;t be disappointed, I promise!

Hey guys, I don't have this in hand yet, as I was in the group buy. Is the title 'inset' meaning lower than the rest of the Steel,or is the title 'raised' above the rest of the Steel?

I've always thought that the raised border was so that the embossing wouldn't rub so harshly against other things on the shelf.

Thanks for the pics. I really like the embossing and debossing on this and can't wait for my copy to arrive! I think this one looks the best out of the bunch. Only thing that dissapoints me is that the discs are plain. It would be nice to have some pictures on the discs every now and then.

That's Paramount for you as they've always opted for plain discs for their Blu Ray releases for some reason

i dunno, i think plain disks are good as long as the print of the title is good and it has decent cover are on the box. sometimes the print on the disks can be a bit too much.

Thanks for the extra pics. Like the colours on it but the border for me is very messy (don't like it when they do that) and for the extra £8 over the Amazon exclusive I still prefer the Amazon one

As a sequel to the first one I thought it was very good.
However a lot of trekkies got upset that it re-used parts of previous films.

This never bothered me as grew up watching the next generation, not the shatner stuff.
