Old Updates & infos:
NEW UPDATE 8/13/2013:
We have a short update on the finish details for our 2 exclusive Star Trek Into Darkness steelbooks. Both the steelbook in the Villain Edition and the Hero Edition steelbook will have debossed title treatments and be matte finishes. We had some fantastic ideas for the ***8220;special packaging***8221; we promised for the Hero Edition, but unfortunately the time constraints of turning this around in just over a month before the release date meant that none of them were possible. The Entertainment Store exclusive sticker that has been on our previous releases will be on these releases too, and we can only apologise for being able to make the Hero Edition special rather than extra special.

All is not lost though ***8211; some of the special packaging we had planned for Star Trek Into Darkness will be present on our next release, which we will be announcing exclusively via HDN on Tuesday 20th August. You won***8217;t be disappointed, I promise!

PREVIOUS UPDATE:
A stunning 2D and 3D blu-ray plus digital copy steelbook. Limited to 4,000 copies and available exclusively from The Entertainment Store. Finish, embossing, release date and pricing TBC, but we have really special plans for the packaging.

Original infos:From our friends at Entertainment Store in the UK:
The Entertainment Store Boldly goes where other E-tailers cannot

The fastest growing Entertainment E-tailer on the Marketplace, The Entertainment Store, continues its strong exclusive packaging offering in September 2013 with the introduction of 2 2D and 3D Blu Ray Steelbooks for Star Trek: Into Darkness Home Entertainment release.

The limited edition Steelbooks are limited to 4,000 copies each, and will be available to Pre-order from The Entertainment Store on Play.com from midday Friday July 19th 2013.

Since its arrival in March 2013 The Entertainment Store has been working closely with Paramount Home Entertainment and have already teamed up to bring us exclusive Blu Ray SKUs such as GI Joe and Hansel and Gretel but this latest batch of releases look to be the most interesting yet. The E-tailer distributes product directly from the Studio warehouses so the product is guaranteed as authentic and of the highest quality.

Not sure why mine showed up addressed to my username rather than my actual name. No idea how the accounts have been linked..

Looks great though :)

I was out today and missed it as they were doing the deliveries separate then the postman. Had to get it redelivered for next Thursday.

Oh why can't we have UK release dates on a Friday

Because every Wednesday you would get 5 pages of bitching about why it wasn't in ones Blu-ray player or sitting pretty on ones shelf already! :p

received my copy today. Once again im not happy with ES thin cardboard packaging.

I wish all my steels turned up wrapped in pillows but as long as the cardbard packaging does the job of keeping the contents safe then it's worked. Hoping that by the lack of mention about damaged steels that everyone who's received theirs so far have had them in mint condition

Im not worried about the embossed or de-bossed im more puzzled and worried about how they link my forum name with my home address when it not in my account?

Is your forum name the same name you use on Play as a seller / buyer? If so then that could explain it. Maybe they've just used that on the delivery label when they normally don't. If not then there must be a spy among us!! :squint:

Best pics I've seen so far bud, thanks! :scat: Can't wait to get mine in hand now. Great looking steel

Ahh, yes my old play trade account uses the same user name as MrFurious, so they must of got that somehow...

Mine has got a pen tip sized dent on the case opening.

The Steelbook looks poor to me due to the finish. This screams for a glossy finish especially on the back. The embossing doesn't look that pronounced as it lacks the sheen.

If this is the start of a new trend by Paramount I must say that it is very disappointing as they are the only Studio to have consistently produced great Steelbooks.

Welp missed this one due to number of post and being fairly new to steelbooks in general looks quite lovely hopefully I can catch a decent ebay price later as I really wanted this one... :(

Mine arrived yesterday and am very impressed. The design is superb but the only thing I don't like is that sticky paper cover over the back. I like to keep the sleeves so much prefer the cardboard ones you can just slip off.
