Old Updates & infos:
NEW UPDATE 8/13/2013:
We have a short update on the finish details for our 2 exclusive Star Trek Into Darkness steelbooks. Both the steelbook in the Villain Edition and the Hero Edition steelbook will have debossed title treatments and be matte finishes. We had some fantastic ideas for the ***8220;special packaging***8221; we promised for the Hero Edition, but unfortunately the time constraints of turning this around in just over a month before the release date meant that none of them were possible. The Entertainment Store exclusive sticker that has been on our previous releases will be on these releases too, and we can only apologise for being able to make the Hero Edition special rather than extra special.

All is not lost though ***8211; some of the special packaging we had planned for Star Trek Into Darkness will be present on our next release, which we will be announcing exclusively via HDN on Tuesday 20th August. You won***8217;t be disappointed, I promise!

PREVIOUS UPDATE:
A stunning 2D and 3D blu-ray plus digital copy steelbook. Limited to 4,000 copies and available exclusively from The Entertainment Store. Finish, embossing, release date and pricing TBC, but we have really special plans for the packaging.

Original infos:From our friends at Entertainment Store in the UK:
The Entertainment Store Boldly goes where other E-tailers cannot

The fastest growing Entertainment E-tailer on the Marketplace, The Entertainment Store, continues its strong exclusive packaging offering in September 2013 with the introduction of 2 2D and 3D Blu Ray Steelbooks for Star Trek: Into Darkness Home Entertainment release.

The limited edition Steelbooks are limited to 4,000 copies each, and will be available to Pre-order from The Entertainment Store on Play.com from midday Friday July 19th 2013.

Since its arrival in March 2013 The Entertainment Store has been working closely with Paramount Home Entertainment and have already teamed up to bring us exclusive Blu Ray SKUs such as GI Joe and Hansel and Gretel but this latest batch of releases look to be the most interesting yet. The E-tailer distributes product directly from the Studio warehouses so the product is guaranteed as authentic and of the highest quality.

I would take any dispatch date with a pinch of salt, as others have said. In some cases the invoice inside have had a date later than when the e-mail was send saying it had been dispatched.

I had this email to from ES today,

Hi, Thanks for your email.

We have been experiencing some issues with updating Play for when an order is shipping late last week – your order left our warehouse on Friday and should be with you shortly.

Please accept my apologies for the delay, and thank you for your patience.

Regards,

Josh

P.S, I also had a peak (well peel off) under the TNT label at the top and seen that mine was posted out friday and recieved monday so that was pretty quick.

as i suspected most of these were shipped friday the 30th as was mine according to the invoice, so as i said yesterday people who recieved fri or sat were lucky. maybe got an earlier dispatch than most.

Maybe some folks here will now understand why most are really pissed off with all this bullsh1t emanating from ES. Why lie???

No I don't understand it. Entertainment Store are a small operation and dealing with thousands of orders isn't easy. Many here don't mind weeks of delays when it comes to Blufans or Kimchi and every time one of their releases is delayed, a round of arse kissing begins in the thread (no offence to the helpful members themselves who do a great service to the forum), yet they can't wait a couple of days extra when it comes to Entertainment Store (or Zavvi for that matter). The mind boggles...

Im sure if entertainment store had their own site and controlled the full operation rather than relying on play.com the service would be better.

Personally, never had a problem with es and when my gi joe didnt turn up, replacement sent immediately.

Their still learning and need our support as well, or do we just want zavvi dictating uk steelbooks?

I would say the problem stems, not from not receiving it on day of release. But rather being told it shipped say on Tuesday, yet the invoice inside says Thursday. People generally don't like being lied to.

But that is play.coms system, not a fault by es. Previous post showed reply from es regarding this

well said and nail-on-head there.

When my status finally updated to 'dispatched' yesterday, I got ready to wait the advised 3-5 days (so by Monday 9th I'd expect delivery, allowing a day or so leway) but due to ES inability to correctly update us regarding payment/dispatch information, I got a (quite welcome, on this occasion) surprise when my steels arrived today.

So my gripe, as said above, is with the mis-advice and lies we've been fed regarding members being charged, order processing and finally dispatch and delivery. I dont mind waiting a few days after release date for pre-order, delays can happen, I'm well aware of this, but when your told its shipped a week ahead, but are still waiting after release date, its more than understandable for the members affect on here to get annoyed.

We are so quick to moan about uk suppliers, who for the best part fo their best to provide a good service.

Yet no ongoing complaints about other countries dropping clangers. Amazon.de for example man of steel ltd edition selling out then over 999 available for example,

I know brits are known to moan, i am a brit myself and like a good moan, but come on, isnt it about time we supported the companies trying their hardest to give us what we ask for?

nope.
it works like ebay - sellers can update when items are dispatched (unless its an in stock item then I believe they are just advised of est.delivery date) so the error is clearly with ES

ES may not be to blame for play not allowing payment amendments (as the interface to check/amend orders is on plays site, not the traders)

I ordered 2 - the first arrived Saturday, the second turned up today. Pretty sure posting out 4,000 steels may have been a more-than-one-day job! Very happy with the item... now to try to find out whats happening with the Villian delivery.....
