These are illustrations from the Blu-ray boxset's Guide to the Galaxy, so I am pretty sure this is what will be on the steelbooks.

They canceled the release of the 3D versions that should have been released later this year because they want to focus completely on Episode 7 now.
Art is OK, but I'm not blown away. Will these be embossed? If not, I might wait it out for another release.

Also, I don't like the fact that the art is from the existing Blu-ray box set. I've already payed $70 for that. I don't want to buy Steelbooks using the exact same art. So lazy, IMHO. The more I think about it, the more I think I will pass on this. And that's saying something since I have a lot of Star Wars stuff.

I dont think so, looking at the size and placement of the title, it looks like its too close to the edges to be embossed, if it were a little lower down maybe

+1 These will probably be the bare bones 3 disc release also
IF this was the original unaltered trilogy, this would be the fastest selling steelbook of all time.
However, it'll be the special editions, so it will probably be up for some time.

The moment I first got into collecting steelbooks, this was what I have been dreaming of. And now it is a reality. So awesome! Can't wait to have this in hand.
I wouldn't hold my breath on this one.
Lucas didn't release the unaltered trilogy in blu-ray and I doubt that Disney will release the unaltered trilogy onto Blu-ray either, as I bet it was part of the agreement.
Having not purchased the original trilogy on blu-ray, I'm exited to see a prospective steelbook release; however, I'll wait for more information before deciding whether this one is worth buying. Disney's acquisition of Lucasfilm is still unsettled in terms of whether or not they intend to continue the practice of milking the fans by re-releasing the films but never giving the fans quite what they were hoping for, nor the films the treatment they deserve.
