Guys this is Star Wars. every edition ever released in the history was pricey. They will have a large print run and will sell out. Order now to avoid frustration later on. I will wait for Amazon to have it so I can place my order.

I think last year's box set, with all 6 movies, came in around £50.

So these 2 steel books of the same movies are £80.

Now i know these are steelbooks, limited edition, its star wars etc, but that type of price hike is too much.

The cost of the steel book is pretty low, as we know from the other available steelbooks, and these are the same disks in last year's boxset i would hazard a guess, no new transfer etc, so the profit margin would arguably be significantly more it appears.

My 2 pence anyway...

Rod, I've just asked in the prequels thread if any UK-wide steels have ever sold out - I'm not sure I've seen any but these two could certainly do it, particularly if there isn't a USA/Canada release or the artwork is exclusive to the UK! I think put an order in, see what other global artwork is like and decide whether to cancel or keep the order later!

I don't care if it sells out before I get it, I'm not getting ripped off at retail because it's a steel. £30 would be fine, it's three movies but ONE steel.

If they were 3 separate steels I'd happily pay £13 each and pay the £40 for the three movies. But not for the single steel containing the three.

It's not such a huge raise as people might think, the cheapest Complete Saga is currently £59 and the two trilogies are £34 (original) & £31 (prequel)

Guys, apparently the Spanish Edition is exactly the same as this but its up on amazon for 10€ less plus it comes out a few days sooner!

Of course Zavvi has free shipping but it still comes out 5€ cheaper after you add the shipping fees.

That's a good point, however I think the spanish one won't sell out immediately like the UK one nor have its value pumped up, specially if US/CAN don't get a steelbook. Skyfall is a very good exemple right? It's available WW but the UK version has vanished before the release day.

Ouch! At that price... no thanks. You can pick up the fancy smancy box set for around £50, and that actually comes with a bonus disc. Yet another pass for me... I'm on a roll this year. :D
