US$300. How much was the total group buy cost?

I noticed the seller I bought from, shoproyale, is located three hours away from me in Texas, so I should receive mine shortly after release. They sold another one-click set shortly after mine, so they had at least two. Were duplicate orders allowed on the Nova site?

Check your inbox mate

Actually, they sold one yesterday, too, and now have a fourth one-click set listed!

Despite all the chaos trying to checkout, how did he manage to swiftly do it ??? ... He couldn't have friends and family all trying to checkout on the website on their iphones, laptops etc as well could he ?

Novamedia need to sort out the website for high demand releases
It should be like any other retailer that ships direct worldwide
Add to cart and make payment and complete checkout in 1 attempt
It should take only a few seconds and not once have any issues to order as long as it's listed as in stock
Once you add to cart it should be easy and no issues

They need to have every single unit of stock only available from the website and not use resellers or a group buy with outside websites
All units on the day available to order direct and no issues at any stage when a customer gets to checkout

When it's sold out it's only because all the stock was sold from the website not because most of it was already pre sold using resellers

Novamedia will loose customers and then find releases not in high demand take lot longer to sell or end up not sold at all
Customers are the most important factor in any business and these customers should be able to order without any issues if in stock

It's time for NovaMedia to sort things out it's gone on to long this crazy setup they have to sell items for sale

For a release like Star Wars every single unit of the print run should have been available to order direct and no issues with doing an order
They would have had 2,000 customers happy that could order direct instead they only had a few hundred who managed this
Total crazy setup they have

The retailers as in Amazon or Zavvi or HMV and most other major retailers and also some other business that are smaller setup you can place an order without issues as long as it is listed in stock

Novamedia should be the same no excuses it should be easy to place an order
They should fix the website to be the same as all other retailers or use a retailer that can do this for them if they not willing to invest in the structure of their website
Either sell all units direct without any website issues or don't bother at all selling direct and use a company that can cope with selling on-line

Totally agree.
I ordered every single Nova steelbook release directly from the beginning and of course missed the rarest one (for the 3rd time...who was there knows...) plus some others :)
But I dont like the fact that there is more than 20% of print run allocated for the GB shipped from USA which makes it very expensive to deliver to Europe. Why dont they use domestic GB host? Why do they use a GB host at all? Why isnt there equal shot for everyone regarding pricing and capability to order? Of course we dont know, how much was reserved for other sales. Really sick of this policy last days and thats just the reason why I stopped completing HDzeta
I have almost every single edition of Novas steelbook releases, spent quite a large sum of money in their eshop but they literally dont give a... Of course Im pissed I didnt manage to order the 1click I wanted but been there many times and one can live with that :) The thing that pisses me most are the unequal conditions...always loved the adrenalin and hype trying to order the release you wanted most directly, but this totally ruins it for me

I don't think that is a fair comparison. Amazon is a behemoth of a company. Zavvi and HMV are massive as well. You're comparing giants with a mouse. I honestly believe Nova and Kimchi would of sold their stock like Kevin does for Blufans over on the BD forum but because Koreans prefer to buy from webstores (i've been told) that is the only reason why they set up a small shop online. Now with the money they are making one would think paying extra for bandwidth during a pre-order launch period would be the right thing to do ...

There are small business setup that have a website to order direct or purchase from a high street retailer
Some of these business have high demand products and have a basic website store on-line these small business don't have these issues we see with Kimchi and Novamedia
Kimchi only got a bit better because novamedia setup their own website and Kimchi was not selling the products

Its very simple if your a small business setup or a larger setup if you have an on-line store selling items for sale it should be easy to place an order and not once have any issues completing checkout by using the company on-line store or when it's through another retailer

When a product is sold out that's fine but once it is listed as in stock and you add to cart you should be able to complete checkout and only take 1 attempt to do this every time and never have any issues to achieve this

There are lot more business that are a smaller setup to Novamedia or Kimchi and these smaller business manage without any issues to sell even higher demand products and even have less range of products for sale without any issues

Novamedia need to invest in their website if they want happy customers or use another retailer to do it for them that has the ability to cope with a high demand release

When you run a business if you continue to not make it easy to order a product overtime you loose customers who will spend their money elsewhere

Novamedia have a good few releases they not managed to sell out they still have Dredd available and other releases not sold out months after been available
Some of these releases are trade wide but are sold out with other asian retailers but yet still available on Novamedia website that is likely due to customers not wanting to use them due to previous experience trying to order before

What do you think a first time customer who went to try to order today their impressions of NovaMedia would be and would they even consider attempting to order from them again

I'd rather say the killer on this one was the super low print run in the first place and secondly the crappy servers. Everyone knows it and complains and probably decides to never deal with nova again but a lot of the people moaning always come back...
Good for me I wasn't interested in this release at all. The spine lentis are a nice touch though ;)

I tried for the Tripack for about 15min, which is my limit now for Nova orders. Maybe I will skip their releases completely in the future. Their website performance is ridiculous and my working hours are much more expensive than one of their exclusive editions...:naughty:

Every pre order, it's the same old story. We can write comments, make posts etc., about how Nova should do this or that. At the end of the day, they haven't done anything to improve the checkout process and I don't think they ever will. Pretty sad and embarrassing for them imo. They deserve all the harsh criticism they get.
