With the other movies not available to buy in 3D there is strong possibility that they could hold the release of the 3D edition but it would seem a bit silly to me, not usual Mouse policy to ignore an easy buck.

The 3D was very average so I don't really mind buying it another time I'm more excited to see the artwork and my head (or bank account) hopes for a WWA but my heart wants lots of different covers (not slips, not my thang)

If this hasn't got 3D then I'll cancel my order - the film was good, but there were plenty of disappointing aspects for me (though overall it was better than E1 and E2, wasn't as good as Revenge of the Sith IMO) and won't warrant multiple purchases.

Bad news, zavvi have updated their listing description and confirmed this is 2D only, no 3D mentioned. Will cancel my order, not paying 25 squid for this.....

Maybe a 3D Steelbook will surface somewhere else? But looks highly doubtful now....

Limited Edition 2D Blu-ray Steelbook with Bonus Disc was the description listed on Thursday on their website at midnight
The description was removed on Sat or Sun and put back yesterday or today

It's been known since Thursday it's 2 Discs 2D Blu-ray and Bonus Disc as is the Amaray release

It's still early days it's 4 months away at least to release date so 3D releases may be announced at a later date or the steelbook content could change to 3D

The film only has been shown in the cinemas since Thursday

The Blu-ray releases and any artwork and content of the discs has not been officially announced yet by disney


No need to cancel any orders yet as it's at least 4 months to release date if not longer
Best to wait till a few months time to find out the details of the releases when Disney announce them
It's not a release that is out next week

I don't subscribe to this, George Lucas is not Star Wars. We certainly have George to thank for the initial idea/concept, but attributing the success of Star Wars to Lucas alone is a disservice to the team of talented artists and special FX gurus that designed the iconic ships and creatures that have since become entrenched in popular culture. Not to mention the writing of Kasdan and direction of Kershner/Marquand. The massive hate for the prequels is justified and well documented - no movie is perfect but the issues most fans have with the prequels are plentiful and objective for the most part. To be honest though, I'm envious that you're able to enjoy them.

George is an incredible businessman but a questionable artist. I'm glad the franchise is no longer in his hands.

The initial idea was from George Lucas like it or not. If people analysed all movies like they analiyse the prequels, no movie would be any good. They are no way as bad as people are making them out to be.

The Force Awakens steelbook is going in my collection, 3d disk or no 3d disk. If zavvi's doesn't have the disk then I doubt any others will. They may decide not to release it in 3D at all.

Not sure what that proves exactly. The Czech release said 3d but was changed.

Someone else will surely announce their steelbooks soon with or without 3D, and with or without fullslips or lenti's, either way I just hope it is soon and before the 4 months before Zavvi's release so I can cancel that and give my hard earned money to something with a little extra.

I'm sure this will have 3D... It's just a very early place holder. This film has the single most effective 3D shot I've ever seen!
