I think that differs by target audience. I would assume that collectors might prefer the original title on a steelbook (even if it is not English) for authenticity (and to find a steelbook in their massive collection). That's probably all the people on this forum.

More casual buyers are more likely to not want an English language label on their blu-ray - my parents for example wouldn't know which Star Wars movie it is given an English title that they don't understand. They only know the movie in their own language (it is also dubbed). So if they went into a shop to buy a disk and thought about getting a "nicer looking box" for the shelf, they would be confused by an English language label. They would definitely prefer their own language, and probably no label over an English one they can't relate to and can't pronounce.

I think this is a bit besides the point though, since the customers should not be to blame here. I am pretty sure this steelbook will sell quite well (in terms of steelbook sales levels), so Disney should put in the effort to produce localised versions at least for larger countries.

I was just wondering what people from different countries prefer, Disney obviously think they will get more money printing title-less steels for the whole of europe/rest of world.

My main point was maybe it would be better to have the same steelbook for the world, after all the j-card would be in the native language. But I'm English so I can't vouch for people from other countries.

It's roughly 10 pounds more for the steel version, yet it seems half baked compared with the USA version.

Presume they need to get these out the door before any more cancellations happen?
Maybe - I cancelled mine last week!

In truth, I think they just send them out as soon as they receive them from the supplier/manufacturer rather than wait until the actual release date.

Although, given that this was scheduled for release on the same date as the general blu-ray and DVD release, I am a bit surprised as retailers have got in to trouble with distributors before now for sending items out too early so people might receive them ahead of the official release date...

They have charged my card for the Dark Side SlipCover Amaray as well so they will be despatching all star wars blu-ray version early

It's normal with zavvi majority of the time as long as they got the stock they charge debit cards on mon/tue and despatch on tue/wed the week before release date

Sometimes it's Wed/Thur but very often it can be on the Tue

Most customers bar a few in the UK who get delivery by Thur/Fri/Sat don't get delivery until release date or a few day after

This don't have a release date restriction as it has different release dates across europe

Zavvi aren't responsible for the look of this steel in UK just like JB aren't responsible in AUS. They are just distributers. If you don't like it order a different version. It's not difficult concept

Ah, it's Disney Europe then?

Ditto my last comment at Disney Europe if that is the case.

Also, did you really need to reply in such a passive-aggressive way just because I made a mistake in who to assign the blame to?

If we are to suppose that the U.S / Canada edition is manufactured by SCANAVO NORTH AMERICA LTD. and all other rest-of-the-world editions are manufactured by SCANAVO EUROPE (or Scanavo Hong Kong Ltd.) I still don't get why the two editions should be so very different regarding the reported finish and 'bossing situation . . .

Brought to mind the reply from Scanavo to my enquiry about the apparent differences between the U.S. RESERVOIR DOGS steelbook and the Zavvi edition with their reason for the minor differences being -
"In regard to the print of the steelbook itself, it is an exact re-print of the same artwork as the U.S. Naturally there can be small colour / shade differences."

In this case that is clearly and deliberately not the reality of the situation as the differences are much more than minor and not just part of a wall difficult to see on the U.K. RESERVOIR DOGS slipcover when compared side-by-side with the U.S. edition . . .
BTW Ordered my Zavvi RD on the 1st April and received it on the 6th (along with a few others from my "To buy list") - my very first Mondo - and I love it

Why would it be just Disney Europe? Isnt rest of the world excluding North America getting the exact same Steelbook as well?
Disney USA/Canada is a separate setup to Disney Europe/Asia/Pacific

The USA/Canada release is different steelbook it has the title on the front and spine and is full gloss finish

Have made a note of the members who hate this for the right reason.Fair play to all

However it would be interesting to see.how many would buy the Nova choice version just because it has some goodies with the same Steelbook inside.

Lol

I'm interested to see what they use for the lenti and i am a sucker for a nova lentis but as I already have the US version with a front and spine title it would be hard for me to put an order in for the European version from nova. saying that, if the goodies are exceptional then I will consider it.
It will be a lot of money for 2 of the same designed steels (obviously one has debossing, titles and possibly a better finish) plus I'll have to cancel a few things for the nova lol

I did that with age of ultron, although there was differences in design. got the US version with a spine title and vision on the back and then the nova lenti version with ultron on the back and no spine title but it has a PET slip to cover it and other bits.

Also my vision version was cheap from eBay and much cheaper than what i paid for the US force awakens so it wasn't a massive hit on the wallet.

Plus a 3D steel is guaranteed to happen at the end of the year with different art so I might just wait for that instead of double dipping on nova.

Lol
:giggle::rofl:
I also will be interested to see who gets the Nova release and praise it over the Zavvi release considering its the exact same Steelbook
I hope people stand by their principles and post the same comments in the Asian threads as well.

It won't be the steel they will be praising though

Or at least if I do decide to get it i won't be praising the steel. We all know their lentis and full slips are superb, but like I said its a lot of money to double dip just for a slip and a few other bits

I doubt it :D
You don't see the same Zavvi hate posts in the other Europe/Asia Star Wars threads even though it's the same steelbook a few have but Zavvi release somehow made out to be the worst even though it's the same:LOL:

I personally am getting Zavvi/Target/Best Buy/Wallmart and Nova star wars releases

But you can be sure there will be praise for the Nova version even though it's the same steelbook as zavvi
It does improve the steelbook in terms of content as in slip or lenti but that's how most releases are with Asia releases they get more praise even when the actual steelbook is the same

I'm getting all the versions simply because I want them

w am I being passive aggressive. I just said you don't need to buy it. And it isn't only Europe who are a no title steelbook. Australia got one too so how does your argument work there

How is this still not sold out? :D
It's Star Wars for crying out loud. People would chew their limbs off to get this. I know a few die hard Star Wars fans who would give both arms and legs to Tennis Association of Bogota just so they can order this steelbook.

Everyone should just cancel their order and wait for a 50% price drop. It's inevitable, I think.

Well if they had given us a decent steelbook to begin with it would of sold out long ago.
No title on the front or spine = no sale ..... a lot of us on here went for the USA group buy that looks half decent.

Off topic, but.. source? Never believed this myself. Always seemed to be a complaint from those who ordered from Amazon whose orders arrived later than those who ordered elsewhere...
