Seems to have gone again relatively quickly. I am glad this has got a bit of attention, one of my childhood sci fi favourites!

Well also amazon.ca packaging is not very good. A lot of members here had their steelbooks damaged, plus you will pay custom fees.

e Amazon.ca-version is still widely available.
Is this the same one? Glossy

Me too, especially since it looks better and is glossy. Guess low print runs and selling out causes hype and hysteria, like usual?

USA/Canada Version is inferior to the UK Release
USA/Canada steelbook has Less extras no inside Artwork

UK Version has better extras and better overall Artwork and has inside Artwork

ca version looks like a 5$ bargain bin item compared to this

ORLY?! Some of you will just eat up whatever overpriced garbage Zavvi throws your way, so there's no point. I guess the Canadian version needed a blue overlay over everything, a cheesy quote in the back that looks like it was added on MS paint, a matte finish to go with the premium price tag for a catalog release, 2k print run, and it would have been a stunner :hilarious:. Even without the inside art, it's still a better release.

If this was their usual print run, ie. 4k, you'd be seeing this one in the 7.99-9.99 range in one of Zavvi's Mega Monday sales for sure. All they did was split the print run in half, and now they're guaranteed 17.99+ sales for something worth half of that ... It's amazing how buzz words sell products more than the actual products themselves. I should probably get into marketing.

Yes 2K 'ultra limited' - amazing what that does for sales. Like I said before ;) if it was the usual 4k print run and £14.99 it would still be in stock and more than likely as not for many months down the line.

I dont normaly get involved in the 'my steelbook is better than yours' 'zavvi sucks' discussions etc, but for me alot of what your saying for me is pure wrong and just looks like 'Zavvi bashing' not a reasonable opinion!
i ordered this because i love the film, because it works out much cheaper than importing the canadian version and i like the artwork, plus the extras etc are actually better!
nothing to do with limited print runs, loving Zavvi or any of that rubbish... SOME PEOPLE BUY THESE THINGS BECAUSE THEY LIKE THEM!!!

(also where does it say matte finish on the Zavvi version? it may well be but they have released gloss steels before you know ;) )

Maybe, but who knows, its a very popular film. who would have expected Rush, The Worlds End or Kick Ass 2 would sell so quickly and be in such demand? the 2K print run has made some people go out and order quickly, some people order to sell and hope to make a profit etc. i reckon several hundred at least will get cancelled by people who ordered so they didnt miss out and will now cancel.

I've preordered this because I am a fan of the movie and have been hoping for a steelbook. Now the time has come I am buying it. If you don't like this steelbook then dont comment on this thread!!!!

They were new releases not an old catalogue title, besides they hung around until release date then stocks went only when in hand pics were revealed. People order this for the reason you say - 1) 2K (and fear of losing out) and 2) Profit. If it was a normal print run ppl wouldn't have ordered it for either of those reasons imo.

I haven't ordered it just because its a 2k run and i'm sure as hell not going to sell it. Maybe some people will buy only for those reasons but im pretty sure majority will be fans of the film wanting this in their collections!
