It was never at any stage advertised that Stargate will be a gloss finish

Its only been members here hoping for a gloss finish

We don't know yet what the finish is

Since it was never advertised it would be a Gloss Finish don't expect it to be
If it turn out to be a gloss finish then you have got a nice surprise
If its a matte finish there will be no surprise but what is usual for these steelbooks

I don't get the posts saying it was advertised as gloss when it was not ever advertised as gloss

I had this on pre order, But I cancalled it. There is too many Steelbook releases to keep up with I hope it turns out great. When its a "Limited Run" I follow the 'Word To the Wise'

This arrived this morning, has been opened for me and is described as the following:
Matt finish, no emboss/deboss, slightly streaky paintwork in places, low res image, but apparently artwork does look ok with slight metallic shine.
Needless to say I'm now less excited about seeing it in the flesh...

Eyes of the beholder and all that, but this sounds like a "Close Encounters of the 3rd kind" steelbook clone.

But, fingers crossed for some pics soon !

From the look of it, I love it!!! Matte does not bother me. Gloss is overrated in my opinion...
What bothers me most is the new trend for black and white inside art.... makes it look a bit cheap...
Can t wait to receive it someday this week.
