I didn't even consider the fear I wouldn't have to go through when opening a figure like I do when opening one of SS's PFs. I don't know what I'm going to do just yet. I'm not planning on ordering any more stuff until after SDCC. That will give me some time to think about how I want to collect SW stuff.

Good thinking! I wonder if any EPVII stuff will be shown. I know Lucasfilm is doing their best to keep things secret, but I wonder if manufacturers like SS, HT, GG, etc. have stuff ready to go as soon as LFL gives the green light.

I have two 2x2 Besta cubes and was wondering if I could stack them in the future.

You are having the same debate as me! I keep eying those as well and I see the HT Stormtroopers look great. I'm just starting to think about size, display room, and the many more characters I could get. Plus when Episode VII is released HT will probably have 5+ figures up for preorder while it will take SS forever to get a PF developed.

I went ahead and ordered the Hoth Luke...if I'm happy with him I may start making the change from 1/4 to 1/6.

You should be able to. They should have dome with a big metal clip that you attach to the back of the cabinets where they meet to keep it from slipping.

Do you guys know something about EPVII and HT that I don't know?

I was thinking the exact same thing about HT having like 5+ Ep VII figs out while SS will probably only have only 1 to 2 Ep. VII PFs that probably won't even ship until late 2016. But at the same time I'm not so sure I want to be slammed with so many HTs in such a short period while I will still be collecting DC PFs at the same time. I don't think I'll have the money to buy everything I want at once. I'm just really looking forward to SDCC to see what SS and HT has in store for us, and I think that will help me decide where to take my SW collection.

Good choice ordering Luke! He looks great!

I think if I ever went that route, I'd just get HT's 1/6 stuff just to switch companies up a little.

You would be in the same boat as me. DC PFs plus Hot Toys. Yeah, it's a tricky call.

And thanks, I'm sure if I like Luke I'll have to get him a taun taun to ride on. :p

Whoops, if there was a clip it's definitely in the garbage long ago.

I don't have any inside knowledge about HT and EPVII, I was just making a guess based on how they've been on the ball with Marvel movies and figures. Heck, they already have (I think) 8 figures from Avengers up for pre-order and the movie still doesn't come out for another 2.5 weeks.

I hope they have at least secretly been working on new stuff so they have some stuff up for order, or maybe even nearly ready to ship when the movie comes out. I think thats probably going to be kind of a long shot, so I'm sure I'll just have to stick to picking up some Hasbro stuff when the movie drops. Which is fine by me cause its going to be awesome seeing all the Ep. VII merch in stores :D.

I'm just basing that off the fact that HT is making every single Marvel character possible from the movies, and every damn Iron Man suit too lol. They know they are going to make bank on SW stuff so I'm sure they will flood the market with VII characters like they are Marvel. Who knows about SS. Maybe they will get their asses in gear and crank out like 5 Ep VII PFs.

Yeah, now you're definitely going to have to get the tauntaun lol. Thats the biggest thing I'm worried about with jumping into sixth scale. I won't be able to afford it all, but I just don't know where and how to draw the line. If I miss out on something my OCD will kick in and I'll end up feeling my collection is incomplete and I'll end up going bankrupt trying to collect every version of every character LOL. Maybe I should collect random SW, Marvel and DC Hot Toys and just buy my favorite characters instead of trying to complete an entire collection. I think it might actually be easier to pass on unnecessary characters this way.

That wouldn't be a bad idea...if you could stick to your limits! The good thing about jumping in right now is there's really nothing you'd have to go back and buy that you missed. The majority of Sideshow's older 1/6 Star Wars stuff doesn't look good by the standards Hot Toys has set. It seems only recently that they've started to put out higher quality sculpts.

I'm just going to have to find some type of limit and stick to it. Thats why I made a list of 15 Batverse PFs I wanted and I'm only going to get those from DC. The problem is I want way more than that when it comes to Star Wars characters from all 6 movies, and who knows how many I'd want from the upcoming trilogy. With the way HT is cranking out figs I'm sure they will eventually get to all of them and I can't swing multiple HTs and multiple SS PFs at the same time even if I flexed everything. I liked the idea of collecting SW PFs beforehand because at those prices I would only get my favorite characters, but now with their upping sizes and prices I just think HTs might be less of a hassle to collect and display. But thats when I just know there will be way too many options available for me and its like I'm at an Ice Cream shop and I want to have all of the flavors. Ughh why did I ever have to discover Sideshow's website LOL.

Ahh, ok, got it! I thought you guys had heard something I hadn't, LOL!

Terp, yeah, if you stack'em, you can just drive a bolt through the lip on the back to connect the two to prevent movement. Or, just just put down a few strips of double sided tape.

That's some serious wishful thinking, Sith, LOL! I think they may have designs of characters and possibly some protos ready to be shown, but can't ATM. My guess is they'll put at least one up for PO about when the movie comes out, and maybe a preview during Spooktacular.

I totally know that there is no way in hell SS would ever release that many SW PFs at one time. I guess I was just pointing out that if they were smart they could really capitalize off of the buying frenzy that will occur when VII stuff starts rolling out. I do see HT releasing probably 5 or more VII figs within a few months of each other though. They are on such a roll right now with Marvel, they have at least a couple new Marvel figs going up for order every month.

Really excited to see what shows up at SDCC and what gets teased at Spook. I think we'll definitely see some previews or leaked photos of some stuff, at least from Hasbro, by summertime for sure. I'm just so geeked to co crazy with VII stuff :D

Yeah, IF they were smart, LOL! When ROTS was about to come out, they put the Grievous PF up for PO, and MR had a few sabers for PO also, but everyone else in the high-end game snoozed. I really hope that this lull is just the calm before the storm, and HT and SS are already gearing up for EPVII stuff even if it is one or two pieces at the start. Maybe, just maybe, we will hear something from Celebration regarding producing figures from TFA.

Spooktacular makes sense to show a preview before the movie comes out in December. Man I hope!

Well here's the Hot Toys exclusive for SW Celebration. Looks like the Stormtrooper is going to become their new Iron Man with all the variants, already up to 3, ha.

Yup, I'd say you're right. I was actually worried this could happen. They could literally make as many versions of Stormtroopers, Clone Troopers, or Battle Droids that they want from any movie, book, tv show, game or comic out there. This will be like the Iron Man suits all over again. Its great for collectors that love every variant possible but the more of these variants they do the longer they will put off doing other new characters, or delaying entire licenses for years or cancelling them entirely.

Well Sideshow has churned out nearly every clone trooper variation lately so I don't know if Hot Toys will mess with those. I keep hearing people say that Hot Toys was told to focus on the original trilogy and the new movie. Any truth to that?

I heard somewhere awhile ago that pretty much all companies were supposed to heavily focus on ROTJ characters until VII came out but I don't think that's happening with any company.

I know SS sure milked the clones in sixth scale. I wonder how many characters/versions HT will redo that SS already did.

Okay, I just saw this list posted at the Freaks board as people are worried that HT is going to go crazy milking Stromtroopers:

I highly doubt they will make anywhere near that many, but that is so many freaking Stormtroopers LOL!

Ha ha, that's hilarious! I hope they start doing more human characters, someone needs to make a good 1/6 Leia. Would love to see them go back and do all the jedis from the prequels.

I'm definitely all for more human characters from HT. The likeness of the actors/actresses is where HT really shines. I'd love to see them do all the Jedi, especially Qui-Gon. I've been waiting so long for a really nice high end Liam Neeson fig LOL. And a good Leia would be sweet too. But I've always been partial to the Slave Leia outfit the most ;).

When the HT SW announcement was made, it was listed that they were making 1/6 and1/4 figures from Episodes 1-6 and TFA. Here is the announcement:

Doing all of the Jedi's would be so freaking cool. That would make one killer SW display.

I really really want an awesome Qui-Gon figure/statue. And its mainly because he is my favorite Jedi and he's my favorite Jedi because he is played by Liam Neeson who is freaking awesome! If SS or HT can't deliver a Qui-Gon I'd take a Bryan Mills, Ra's Al Guhl, or even an Oskar freaking Schindler fig/statue just to get a good looking high end Neeson item LMAO!

I'm sure HT will get to SLJ. SS might not do it because it appears they don't want to give out any Brotherly love LOL.

Agreed!

Mace, like many others, is long overdue.

I would definitely buy Qui-Gon! They already made Nick Fury, couldn't they just take off the patch and slap his head on a Jedi? ha ha

Exactly! HAHA!
