So $400 for a BB-8 PF? Man that R2 LSF price is just insane. I like that they are promoting free shipping on Kylo as a big deal when you know they jacked up the price to cover the shipping costs! Did you put him on flex pay? That's what I've been doing with all the expensive DC statues. Thankfully Aquaman only cost me $40 with reward points.

The thing about Kylo is he's completely covered in fabric anyhow so I don't think you would be able to tell that the HT one is a figure and not a statue. Plus I guarantee it will have a light up saber. I only have the Rey/BB8 on order at the moment. I still wasn't sure what route I was going so I hadn't ordered anymore...although the price of Kylo might have just tipped the scale for me. I need to open my HT Kylo and the First Order troopers I have and take some photos!

I'm sure BB-8 will be at least $400 by the time he comes out. I'm pretty sure that SS has seen how much collectors are willing to dish out on XM's stuff, so they are figuring they can get more out of their customers too. I'm happy that I already have my most wanted characters in PF so I won't have to worry about SS's price gouging. Having said that I did throw $100 worth of RP at Kylo and I flexed him on top of it to soften the blow, but that will definitely be my last $500+ piece. Its clear SS is giving the double RP on him to help them get away with charging extra and then geting the customer to come back to spend their RP on something else instead of just discounting Kylo. Not my favorite way of doing business, but they know it works. Thats a great deal you got on Aquaman for sure!

Open your Kylo HT! I wanna see pics! The thing I'm not crazy about with HTs is that pole that holds them up right under their ass. Its fine for the 1:6 figs but i don't like it on 1:4, and it wouldn't match up with my PFs with that thing. And if they give you an option to not use the pole I'd be too worried about it falling over. Especially if my sister comes over with her kids and they bang into my besta.

Are you going to watch any SW movies tonight for Star Wars day?

I'm sure BB-8 will be at least $400 by the time he comes out. I'm pretty sure that SS has seen how much collectors are willing to dish out on XM's stuff, so they are figuring they can get more out of their customers too. I'm happy that I already have my most wanted characters in PF so I won't have to worry about SS's price gouging. I originally made a list of all the Batverse PFs I wanted and the vast majority of them still haven't been made yet and there is no way I'd be able to swing all of them at these prices. And by the time they come out they'll be even more. I joked a lot with Lou about how PF prices were going to get higher, but now after seeing Kylo hit $570 its just not funny anymore. The realization has set in. Less than 2 years ago PFs were $400 and they were huge pieces! (At least the DC ones were). Its looks like $600 for a PF will become standard this year. Flexing helps but even if I didn't flex I'd still have to be packing the money away every month to pay it off all at once when it ships. I definitely won't be ordering any other statues in the meantime unless I sell stuff off to afford them, but I'm really thinking and hoping I'm done.

I have an 8 year old nephew and an 11 year old niece. They both LOVE Star Wars! But these kids just don't respect toys like I used to. I used to be so gentle with my stuff, and keep all it all put away in boxes when I wasn't using them and I never lost a single accessory. These kids just smash there lego pieces into the ground with no regard if they break anything or not, and they lose stuff all the time. I make sure they respect my stuff, but I keep praying one day I don't come into this thread with a story of something getting smashed. The doors detour them from touching stuff but it still worries me. She has a little dog too. I might think about a padlock to add to my collection room LOL.

Yesterday I was really thinking that I was going to end up watching TFA today, but right now I'm actually feeling like ROTJ. That might change again by tonight LOL.

Although he seems pretty protective of all his dinosaurs, apparently he just likes breaking other people's stuff. Little brat, ha ha. If you have an option to lock that room then I would when they come over!

So I just looked, the first Hot Toy I ordered was the Mark IV Iron Man back in 2010 for $179.99. Now I think Hot Toys average about $220 (with some being less and the die cast being way more). The first premium formats I ordered were Joker and Green Lantern in 2013 at $349.99. Now I'm not sure what the average PF price is because they are all over the place, but I think $450 is a fair estimate. So Hot Toys prices have increased 22% in 6 years while SS prices have increased 29% in just 3 years. Or you could look at Darth Malgus at $380 in 2013 when compared to Kylo's $570 price...that's a whopping 50% price increase in 3 years! I still don't understand how Kylo is $70 more than the Vader which appears to have a much more elaborate base and has light up features (and is also the most popular character in SW history).

Yeah I'll probably change my mind on which SW movie I watch later too.

HTs have been going up too. I guess I don't notice it as much because PFs jump up a couple hundred dollars in price sometimes. Then I go into the 1:6 threads and I read about people complaining that there has been a $20 increase on their $200 figure and I'm like "wtf are you people complaining about, if you were a statue collector you'd be begging for only a $20 increase" lol. I can't figure out how Kylo is more than Vader for the life of me, and SS hasn't said anything about it either. And I think its safe to say that SS has no shame after releasing a $2000 22" R2.

I actually do have the yellow Koto Wolverine. Unfortunately the unmasked sculpt has a slight chip in the hair, not sure how much that will effect it's resale value. I've seen the Koto Spiderman go for as much as $600!



$570 is a pass for me, that's just too much for such a basic design. You could buy the HT Finn/stormtrooper 2-pack and the HT Leia for $565...just saying. Plus I already have the HT Kylo.

Speaking of HT, they previewed a Han/Chewie Episode VII 2-pack and an ESB Yoda today. AND they previewed a 1/4 scale Kylo, might be worth waiting to see the price of that before ordering the PF?

R2 is $2K for what I'm assuming is a plastic statue. I think it should be $2K for the set, not $2K each. Whatever happened to the Vader LSF?



That's cool, I'm glad they are finally getting their butt in gear with Star Wars stuff. Have to assume Rey will be next...Rey and BB8 PF set for $700!

Yeah, couldn't agree more. Maybe $2500 tops! I wonder why they keep putting the Vader LSF off. Either they really are trying to get it right, or they are having some serious issues. Or, maybe they are waiting since the new Vader PF might be shipping soon.

I already ordered the Kylo PF from one of my AD's for almost $70 off retail. It's not the EX though. But, I hadn't heard of the HT version at the time. If it comes with an Adam Driver portrait, I'll go that route for sure! Will definitely be keeping up to date on that one! Saw the Han & Chewie 1/6 preview too. HT knows how to capitalize man.

Wow, some of those little Kotos go for insane amounts of cash! You can definitely flip both of those and pick up an XM piece .

The price is insane on Kylo, but since I'm only collecting PFs when it comes to SW, there is no way I could miss out on this character. I highly doubt I'll be buying anymore SW PFs from this point forward though. My $500 ceiling has now been broken and I'm just not willing to continue collecting beyond that price point.

I saw the Kylo HT but I already ordered the PF last night. Its no biggie though since all of my SW stuff is statues anyways and I don't want to mix it up with figures. Han and Chewie should look really awesome though! What do you have on order from HT?

The $2K price tag on the R2 LSF is now officially the most ridiculous price I have ever seen. You guys will now see me move away from the $2K price complaint of regular sized LSFs, and now whenever I complain about how ridiculous SS's prices are getting, the R2 LSF will now be the number one example I go to for my complaining lol. I mean its shorter than some PFs are. How the **** can it cost $2000????

I heard Dave Igo confirm on SF that if they make a BB-8 PF it would only be sold individually and not in a set.

Get them open! LOL! That's what makes me SMH over the Kylo PF price. It's covered in fabric. They don't do anything special to the body. No sculpting is needed. Not to mention no wiring for a light up feature. FFS! Why is it $570? I watched TFA very early today, my favorite SW movie, ROTS, a bunch of TCW, went on a loooooooong ride on MAUL, and had some Boba Fettucini for dinner. Was going to watch TFA again, but think I might do Jedi, and try and squeeze TPM in before bed.

Sounds like you had quite the Star Wars Day, Boba Fettucini is awesome! I just finished watching Attack of the Clones. It's been so long since I've watched it that I apparently missed stuff the first time. I didn't realize Padme blamed Count Dooku for that first attempt on her life. I always remember thinking Dooku just showed up out of nowhere with no mention. I also didn't realize Padme's sole purpose of being on Coruscant was to vote against forming an army. I remember Jar-Jar screwing up when he cast his vote, but didn't realize how important it was for Naboo to vote against it! The arena battle is still awesome, Mace Windu is still a badass, and the score was great.

I must say Anakin seems a little bit like a narcissist. He reminds of my dad a lot of the times with his anger and belief that he's the greatest. I swear that conversation Obi-Wan and Anakin have before their lightsaber duel in the third movie...yeah I've had that conversation so many times with my dad. He's constantly blaming me for turning people against him (even though he's done that himself!) and because I won't take his side against my brother then his line of thinking is totally "if you're not with me then you're against me." Yeah if you can't tell I have some major problems with my dad. Funny thing is I compared him to a Sith Lord a long time ago.

So I didn't get around to opening any HTs tonight because I was putting another PAX together. I unpacked these four statues just to snap a picture for Josh and now I need to go to bed because it's way past my bedtime! Hope everyone had a good Star Wars Day!

I totally feel you about your feelings towards your dad. I'm the same way, except he's Palpatine and I'm Vader. Vader throwing Palps over the rails is like me throwing my dad out of my life. Agreed on Anakin also. I love the similarities between him, Luke, and Kylo. I imagine Anakin would have been more like Kylo had he made it to that age instead of going in the suit. Same with Luke. He'd be like Kylo had he embraced the Dark Side instead of the Light. Seems like the Skywalker women are more level headed, LOL!

Man I love Clones! IMO, the best score out of all the SW movies. And, the best ending that fades into the credits not to mention probably the best land battle of all the movies and only second to Landing on Point Rain (the 2nd taking of Geonosis) in TCW. Plus, Padme in that black dress and the white outfit. I'd be at full lightsaber if I had been sitting next to her, LOL!

Man I love Clones! IMO, the best score out of all the SW movies. And, the best ending that fades into the credits not to mention probably the best land battle of all the movies and only second to Landing on Point Rain (the 2nd taking of Geonosis) in TCW. Plus, Padme in that black dress and the white outfit. I'd be at full lightsaber if I had been sitting next to her, LOL!

Well I reinforced the shelf on the back with a metal railing, I guess we'll see if that's enough to avoid it bowing. The Joker and Harley Quinn both are pretty light so I think it should be okay.

Yeah Luke is whiney in A New Hope, I think he would have had the exact same personality as Kylo if he had embraced the dark side. And I agree the land battle was great. The only thing that made me chuckle is they are just standing in an open area shooting at each other without attempting to take any cover. Padme in the white dress...mmmmmm

Yeah, couldn't agree more. Maybe $2500 tops! I wonder why they keep putting the Vader LSF off. Either they really are trying to get it right, or they are having some serious issues. Or, maybe they are waiting since the new Vader PF might be shipping soon.

I already ordered the Kylo PF from one of my AD's for almost $70 off retail. It's not the EX though. But, I hadn't heard of the HT version at the time. If it comes with an Adam Driver portrait, I'll go that route for sure! Will definitely be keeping up to date on that one! Saw the Han & Chewie 1/6 preview too. HT knows how to capitalize man.

Get them open! LOL! That's what makes me SMH over the Kylo PF price. It's covered in fabric. They don't do anything special to the body. No sculpting is needed. Not to mention no wiring for a light up feature. FFS! Why is it $570? HT's will no doubt have a ton of switch out options, a light up saber no doubt, and if they do an Adam Driver portrait it'll be far more bang for the buck!

I watched TFA very early today, my favorite SW movie, ROTS, a bunch of TCW, went on a loooooooong ride on MAUL, and had some Boba Fettucini for dinner. Was going to watch TFA again, but think I might do Jedi, and try and squeeze TPM in before bed.

Plus, Malgus is heavy as hell, bigger, and lights up!

Ha ha, is that Shia LaBeouf? That cracked me up. I didn't quite get around to opening it up tonight so I can't tell you how the fabric is! I'm not sure if the 1/4 scale Kylo will come with an unmasked portrait, but the preview photo showed it comes with Vader's mask.

Sounds like you had quite the Star Wars Day, Boba Fettucini is awesome! I just finished watching Attack of the Clones. It's been so long since I've watched it that I apparently missed stuff the first time. I didn't realize Padme blamed Count Dooku for that first attempt on her life. I always remember thinking Dooku just showed up out of nowhere with no mention. I also didn't realize Padme's sole purpose of being on Coruscant was to vote against forming an army. I remember Jar-Jar screwing up when he cast his vote, but didn't realize how important it was for Naboo to vote against it! The arena battle is still awesome, Mace Windu is still a badass, and the score was great.

I must say Anakin seems a little bit like a narcissist. He reminds of my dad a lot of the times with his anger and belief that he's the greatest. I swear that conversation Obi-Wan and Anakin have before their lightsaber duel in the third movie...yeah I've had that conversation so many times with my dad. He's constantly blaming me for turning people against him (even though he's done that himself!) and because I won't take his side against my brother then his line of thinking is totally "if you're not with me then you're against me." Yeah if you can't tell I have some major problems with my dad. Funny thing is I compared him to a Sith Lord a long time ago.

So I didn't get around to opening any HTs tonight because I was putting another PAX together. I unpacked these four statues just to snap a picture for Josh and now I need to go to bed because it's way past my bedtime! Hope everyone had a good Star Wars Day!

Ha, I did admit to my friend the other day that Batman and Spider-Man have the best rogue galleries. But I'm just not a huge Batman fan, I don't know what to tell you! I wouldn't buy anymore Bat villains outside of Deathstroke because he is a more mainstream DC Universe villain. I always read those posts about your most wanted DC PF and it seems everyone just lists Batman related characters. They've already made too many in comparison to the rest of the DCU in my opinion.

Unfortunately nearly every family has problems and it seems like it's always caused by one very over dramatic or abrasive person. Of course I know some families where everyone just has an easy going, loving personality and they all get along. I want to be in those families!

The should absolutely NOT make Luke turn to the dark side! Luke is my favorite character and I would hate that! He's the greatest Jedi ever in my mind. I don't think there's enough time to even go down that path in only two movies anyhow.

I'd be terrified what would happen if I tried justifying an XM piece because once I had one I'd be like "Oh look at the deal on this quarter scale piece from SS. Its only $800! Thats so much cheaper than the XM that I just bought. I should totally get 2 of these so I can sell one later for an epic profit!" LOL.

Batman's popularity is easily rooted in his rogues gallery just as much as it is on him, if not even more. I like Joker and CW just as much as Bats himself. Deathstroke's popularity has sure been on the rise lately, especially after they brought him into the Batman Arkham Origins game, and then on the Arrow tv show. Spider-Man's villains are awesome too!

It would be so weird for me to be in a normal family, I just wouldn't know how I'd react without any family drama during the holidays lol.

Well they had Luke wearing all black in ROTJ, then he had to stop himself from slashing into Vader when he saw the path he was headed, and I've heard rumors he's going to be wearing another all black outfit in VIII. I don't know if they'd go that way with the character, but George's big thing was always about making the SW saga rhyme like poetry, so if Luke ever went to the dark side like Anakin I wouldn't be shocked if they decided to follow on George's poetry idea. I'd definitely love to see it, and I'm sure he'd end up redeeming himself in the end like Vader did. But I can totally see your point of view too, with Luke being your favorite character that would totally suck for you lol.

I, unfortunately, have a ton of resentment for both my parents, and for their new spouses also. Didn't really hit me until my own kids were about 16-18. I was going through a rough spot at that age, and rather than be parents, they just kept shipping me off to each other until finally both just gave up. My dad threw me out when I was 17 with no money and no place to go. I slept in an abandoned storage shed that was 3x3 feet. I had convinced my mom and her husband to let me move back up to Seattle so that I could work and get my own place, but they threw me out with no place to go after just a couple weeks. Thankfully I had a job, landed another job, and ran into an old high school friend who gave me a spare room. I would never do that to my girls. Not to mention, my dad has diabetes and has lost his legs, and his wife and daughter died (my half sister). I had sympathy of course, but I felt he was asking too much of me. Same with my mom. She has breast cancer, or had. I had a real hard time being there for them in their time of need when there were times I almost died from no food or almost freezing to death. Anyway, there's a lot more to it, but I like the way things are now. They don't call and bother me anymore. I have my wife and kids, you wonderful people, and that is all I need.

I guess that is what I liked about it the most. It was just a straight up hard ass battle face to face. Last army standing kind of thing. Kind of like us against the French or British back in the day.

Is the shelf known to bow? I worry about that sometimes with my Bestas, so I check them yearly.

LOL! My kids bought me a Star Wars cookbook several years back. We make stuff from it all the time. They have Wookie Cookies and all kinds of stuff.

I don't know man. The Grievous cape was pretty detailed also not to mention the complexity of the statue itself. Talking with my friend in Seattle who works with fabrics, she said 8 pass is ok but 16 pass would be better for that size figure. I guess 16 has better detail? So, I don't really think that has much to do with it. Well, not enough to warrant a price like that IMO.

That's good your mom and dad have always been great to you. That's how my wife is to my girls. I'm the hard ass. I'm the one who will say, "You can't go to your friends birthday pool party that everyone else is going to" at the last minute. It's tough, but I'd rather be the heavy and them be mad at than my wife. My girls are awesome though, and rarely give me any problems. My youngest is a little puppet master though. She has me doing stuff where later I'm like wait a minute! Did she just play me? LOL! Then I gotta be "dad" to put her in her place. She's my little spitfire. She's the volleyball player in my youtube vids.

I'd be terrified what would happen if I tried justifying an XM piece because once I had one I'd be like "Oh look at the deal on this quarter scale piece from SS. Its only $800! Thats so much cheaper than the XM that I just bought. I should totally get 2 of these so I can sell one later for an epic profit!" LOL.

Batman's popularity is easily rooted in his rogues gallery just as much as it is on him, if not even more. I like Joker and CW just as much as Bats himself. Deathstroke's popularity has sure been on the rise lately, especially after they brought him into the Batman Arkham Origins game, and then on the Arrow tv show. Spider-Man's villains are awesome too!

It would be so weird for me to be in a normal family, I just wouldn't know how I'd react without any family drama during the holidays lol.

Well they had Luke wearing all black in ROTJ, then he had to stop himself from slashing into Vader when he saw the path he was headed, and I've heard rumors he's going to be wearing another all black outfit in VIII. I don't know if they'd go that way with the character, but George's big thing was always about making the SW saga rhyme like poetry, so if Luke ever went to the dark side like Anakin I wouldn't be shocked if they decided to follow on George's poetry idea. I'd definitely love to see it, and I'm sure he'd end up redeeming himself in the end like Vader did. But I can totally see your point of view too, with Luke being your favorite character that would totally suck for you lol.

I'm going to keep hoping they don't turn Luke. I mean if they do that does that mean Rey will turn to the dark side when they inevitably make another trilogy years from now? I hope it ends with Luke and Rey rebuilding another Jedi order But yeah I can totally see Luke sacrificing himself at some point. Does that mean they'll kill of Leia too?

I, unfortunately, have a ton of resentment for both my parents, and for their new spouses also. Didn't really hit me until my own kids were about 16-18. I was going through a rough spot at that age, and rather than be parents, they just kept shipping me off to each other until finally both just gave up. My dad threw me out when I was 17 with no money and no place to go. I slept in an abandoned storage shed that was 3x3 feet. I had convinced my mom and her husband to let me move back up to Seattle so that I could work and get my own place, but they threw me out with no place to go after just a couple weeks. Thankfully I had a job, landed another job, and ran into an old high school friend who gave me a spare room. I would never do that to my girls. Not to mention, my dad has diabetes and has lost his legs, and his wife and daughter died (my half sister). I had sympathy of course, but I felt he was asking too much of me. Same with my mom. She has breast cancer, or had. I had a real hard time being there for them in their time of need when there were times I almost died from no food or almost freezing to death. Anyway, there's a lot more to it, but I like the way things are now. They don't call and bother me anymore. I have my wife and kids, you wonderful people, and that is all I need.

I guess that is what I liked about it the most. It was just a straight up hard ass battle face to face. Last army standing kind of thing. Kind of like us against the French or British back in the day.

Is the shelf known to bow? I worry about that sometimes with my Bestas, so I check them yearly.

LOL! My kids bought me a Star Wars cookbook several years back. We make stuff from it all the time. They have Wookie Cookies and all kinds of stuff.

I don't know man. The Grievous cape was pretty detailed also not to mention the complexity of the statue itself. Talking with my friend in Seattle who works with fabrics, she said 8 pass is ok but 16 pass would be better for that size figure. I guess 16 has better detail? So, I don't really think that has much to do with it. Well, not enough to warrant a price like that IMO.



Yeah, I don't think it would happen. That is what made Luke what he is. Unlike his father and now nephew.

Yes, the PAX shelves are known to bow after time. That's why someone came up with the idea of putting the metal shelf railings on the front and back of the shelves. I only put them on the back as the bottom shelf is supported in the front by another shelf flipped on it's side. I just hope the back railing is enough to support the top shelf!

I'm going to have to look into this Star Wars cookbook!

Ha, that's great! Still trying to decide if I should order the steelbook or just wait until the regular blu drops to $10.

LOL! No doubt there was work that went into making it, but I just can't see it being anything that would justify the price. In the end though, most of us will buy it. I'll keep my order for now and wait to see what the HT one is like.

That's good your mom and dad have always been great to you. That's how my wife is to my girls. I'm the hard ass. I'm the one who will say, "You can't go to your friends birthday pool party that everyone else is going to" at the last minute. It's tough, but I'd rather be the heavy and them be mad at than my wife. My girls are awesome though, and rarely give me any problems. My youngest is a little puppet master though. She has me doing stuff where later I'm like wait a minute! Did she just play me? LOL! Then I gotta be "dad" to put her in her place. She's my little spitfire. She's the volleyball player in my youtube vids.

Kids always find a way of out thinking their parents lol. But one of them always has to be the hard ass. It makes the kids more responsible later in life, she'll probably thank you for it someday lol.

Maybe they'll pull a massive plot twist and reveal Leia has been a Sith Lord all along! LOL.

I'm not 100% on Rey being a Skywalker, but I'm pretty confident. I mean they had Luke doing the voice over, talking about his family, for the second TFA teaser, and it ended with "you have that power too". The only person we saw develop force powers in TFA was Rey, so I'm assuming there has to be some connection there. Who knows if they'll make Luke turn, but its something I'd love to see them have the balls to do with the character.

I haven't bought a Blu since TFA! LOL. I figured I can splurge the extra few bucks and get the DP Steelbook.
