Thats what I believe, but its just so odd they picked someone like Whedon to take over. The studio would know how vastly different the movie would be with Whedon. I would think if Snyder left on his own he would have picked someone like Nolan or Goyer to take over too, as it was Nolan himself that handpicked Snyder for Man of Steel. Just looking at the different trailers you can see how they started out with very dark skies, and in the newest one the same skies have been replaced by bright red skies in the same scenes. Not to mention now everyone was smiling for no apparent reason during the destrction of the world . The studio would know these changes would be coming with Whedon. So even if Snyder did leave on his own I think it was the studio that wanted to take the movie in a different direction and picked Whedon. There was also a report out that a cut of Snyder's version was "unwatchable". So I think there will be some news that comes about what really went down behind the scenes in the coming years, but I wouldn't be surprised if Warners asked or encouraged Snyder to leave.

I guess you could be right, but Kylo never seemed all that powerful to me, just really unstable. Rey was able to dominate him in the fight, and she was able to out force him when he was in her head. Which was pretty amazing considering how briefly she knew how to use the force. I think its going to be revealed she's the most powerful Jedi ever, or even that she is the force itself! I hated the Porgs the first time I saw them and now I hate them even more after I heard how they sound! Lol.

Lmao! It's funny because in every reaction video they always laugh at that porg scene.

I imagine so regarding Rey. It seems she's a conduit for the Force. She really doesn't know how to use it, it does the work for her if you know what I mean.

I'm not sure how powerful Kylo really is, but I've never seen another Force user stop a blaster bolt in mid air. He reminds me alot of Anakin tho.

O don't know why WB would want to change Snyder's work considering the success of MOS and BvS. Would be really sad, IMO, if true.

Well, saw the trailer and loved it! The opening shot totally reminded me of Anakin. Snokes voice, i assume he is talking to Kylo. The raw strength Luke refers to must be Kylo as well, or maybe Luke is talking about himself, or Anakin, or Snoke. Hell, guess it could be anyone. The scene in space with Kylo flying his ship, and the switch back and for between him and Leia, I this will be reminiscent of what Vader and Luke did at the end of Empire. Communicate using the Force. Initially I thought Kylo was going to kill her, but I think it's more she's in his head than anything. Roll eyes moment, another gratuitous scene with the Falcon and wtf is up with the space penguin owl? I seriously hope Phasma wipes the floor with Finn. I absolutely can't stand that character. Phasma looks frikkin sweet!! Icicle dogs, who knew? Guess the sequence with the walkers and those weird ass speeders will be like the battle of hoth. Nice to see Snoke in the flesh so to speak. Wonder what this destiny thing is of Rey he speaks of, and if it has to do with joining Kylo. Although, the end scene very well may be 2 different scenes where Rey speaks to Kylo. I dunno, it looks awesome!! That said, I'm still more excited for TJL which is weird considering how much of a hardcore Star Wars fan I am.

I had to wait to watch it. My wife worked last night and didn't get home until 8am, so we watched it immediately when she walked in.



Lmfao! So, some people were mad because if Batmans brutality in BvS, and now some don't like that Bruce Wayne smiles. Wonder if that was Joss Whedons doing how it seems more like Marvel.

I kind of feel Snoke is talking about Rey when he's describing raw, untamed power. As for Luke, he could be talking about Yoda or Vader for all we know. Yoda was the one who lifted his x-wing out of the swamp after all. I don't think Kylo will kill Leia, I don't think Leia will die at all but I also don't think she'll appear in episode IX.

I can't believe you're more excited for Justice League! That is shocking to me! Maybe it's because JL comes out sooner?

I have a feeling Snoke is talking to Rey in the beginning. Maybe its Kylo, idk, but raw untamed power seems to kind of describe Rey after what we're seeing in this trailer. I think the strength Luke must be referring to is either Vader, Palps or Snoke as I just don't see Kylo as being all that powerful, he got beaten by a 90 pound girl that just learned how to use the force 5 mins ago FFS! I can totally see the Empire reference with the back and forth shots between Leia and Kylo though, that was really cool. I hope he kills her as I feel that would be a fitting end for Leia, they've gotta do something with the character with Carrie being gone. If she's left alive that's going to feel like a very big awkward hole left in Ep. IX, I think they pretty much have to take her out in this movie. I seriously hate Porgs, they could possibly ruin this movie for me, and this is coming from someone who likes Jar Jar and the Ewoks!

Whedon's fingerprints are all over this movie! Its so tonally different than BvS, Warnes must not have liked Zack's dark tone. I'm starting to think Snyder didn't willingly leave the movie, he must have gotten canned.

I don't think Leia is going to die, but I also don't think she'll appear in Ep. IX. They'll write her off somehow. Dude, how can you not love Porgs? They are officially my new favorite character! Ha ha, I know Disney is banking hard on selling a ton of porg merchandise to kids at Christmas time.

Really? Didn't he leave because his daughter died? TJL doesn't seem as dark as BvS, but definitely seems darker than MOS. I do wonder what exactly Whedon did with this movie. FFS, why not just have Goyer and/ or Nolan finish it.

I wonder because Snoke seemed surprised when she bested Kylo. I really hope they are talking about Anakin, but I do think it's Kylo. Disney wants to sell these 2 characters abilities as more powerful than we've seen. People are going nuts over Porgs for craps sake. The very same people who complained about Jar Jar and weeks, lmao!!

Warners expected BvS to make over a billion dollars and it came 130 million short. It was also torn apart by critics and the fans were totally split on it. So I'm not too surprised they are changing some things, but I really didn't want this to be a comedy.

Warners expected BvS to make over a billion dollars and it came 130 million short. It was also torn apart by critics and the fans were totally split on it. So I'm not too surprised they are changing some things, but I really didn't want this to be a comedy.

I mean I loved Smallville when it was on, but it was pretty cheesy. I actually watched the first episode of that the other day, ha. The CW shows have come a little ways in the graphics department, that's for sure.

Rogue One is awesome! No, I won't go to the UPS store until Saturday. It's too hard to make it there before it closes on the weekdays. You need to just display her next to your TV or something where you can see her and see if she grows on you. That's what happened with me.

Well I got my Seattle Comic Con tickets today, looks like I'm going again.

So far the celebrity guest announcements are terrible. There is one Harry Potter actor (which I never got into the HP hype) and three actors I've never heard of. Oh well, I just go for the fun of it every year. Adam Hughes will be there, I used to have his Supergirl cover hanging on my wall. Maybe there will be more comic book artists. I'm really just hoping for some Star Wars guests! I suppose I should fork over the dough to go to Star Wars Celebration in 2019.

It's things like this that make it super difficult to not jump on the HT stuff.

I still don't understand why in the hell they just didn't do a reboot! They could have made any story they wanted without being tied to the current universe. New characters, new timeline, etc.

I think Snyder has done a magnificent job with these movies so far. Hes done great work on all his movies, IMO. Was going through my library, and I own every movie he's directed, and really like them. Can you imagine him directing a TCW era movie written by Goyer?

My wife said it's because I've been saturated with TJL teasers and trailers while there really hasn't been much from TLJ. May be true. My excitement for TLJ is building now that uve seen the last trailer a bazillion times, but TJL still edges it out.

I've never read a Harry Potter book, but one month I actually watched all of the movies. They are all long and the first couple are incredibly boring. I actually couldn't tell you anything that happened in any of them because I didn't find them that memorable.

HT is killing it with the SW license in my opinion!

Are you talking about Justice League when you said why didn't they do a reboot? I thought Batman Begins was pretty well received when it came out. It has an 84% rating on RT. I don't think I even realized that or Superman Returns were ever even released in the theater. I rented both a year or so after they came out.

I don't hate TFA, but there are a few things they did that bother me. I don't hate any Star Wars movie. I just like some more than others.

I'm definitely not a Snyder fan like you. I've seen his first three movies (Dawn of the Dead, 300, Watchmen) and the only one that I enjoyed even a little was DotD, but I only liked the first 15-20 minutes. The Watchmen did a great job of adapting the comic, but I was never a fan of the comic so that might be why I didn't care for that one.

It's things like this that make it super difficult to not jump on the HT stuff.

I still don't understand why in the hell they just didn't do a reboot! They could have made any story they wanted without being tied to the current universe. New characters, new timeline, etc.

I think Snyder has done a magnificent job with these movies so far. Hes done great work on all his movies, IMO. Was going through my library, and I own every movie he's directed, and really like them. Can you imagine him directing a TCW era movie written by Goyer?

My wife said it's because I've been saturated with TJL teasers and trailers while there really hasn't been much from TLJ. May be true. My excitement for TLJ is building now that uve seen the last trailer a bazillion times, but TJL still edges it out.



I love TFA! I don't get the hate for it either. I mean, it's not Rebels!

I still don't buy it. 130 mil short of a billion is still a crap load of money! People and critics tore Bale Batman apart too yet Nolan still made 2 more. Not to mention of the current DC universe movies, MOS and BvS blow the rest away.

I like TFA, I don't love it and I don't hate it, but its definitely not my favorite. I had a slight issue with lack of originality when I first saw it, but the more I watch it the more that bugs me. But its still an overall good movie.

That's true, but The Dark Knight made way more money than the studio hoped for while BvS was still technically a disappointment for them. Even though you and I think $130 mil short isn't that much off, it is for the studio. The good news for me is I've been watching the JL trailer a lot over the last couple of days and my issues with it are fading quickly. I think its just that because I'm so close to these characters I'm more defensive when I see something that doesn't immediately jive with what I think I should be seeing.

I hope we get a TCW era spinoff movie. Maybe once they feel comfortable enough to move off of the OT obsession they have right now.

I've never read a Harry Potter book, but one month I actually watched all of the movies. They are all long and the first couple are incredibly boring. I actually couldn't tell you anything that happened in any of them because I didn't find them that memorable.

I was going to buy that Supergirl comic that Hughes did the cover on to have him sign it...it sells for over $400!!!

I have no idea where Celebration 2019 will be. I just know they said there won't be one next year.

Are you talking about Justice League when you said why didn't they do a reboot? I thought Batman Begins was pretty well received when it came out. It has an 84% rating on RT. I don't think I even realized that or Superman Returns were ever even released in the theater. I rented both a year or so after they came out.

I don't hate TFA, but there are a few things they did that bother me. I don't hate any Star Wars movie. I just like some more than others.

I'm definitely not a Snyder fan like you. I've seen his first three movies (Dawn of the Dead, 300, Watchmen) and the only one that I enjoyed even a little was DotD, but I only liked the first 15-20 minutes. This makes me wonder once Marvel decides to reboot their cinematic universe how will the fans react? Superman has had many different variations of the character on the big screen and on the tv screen over the decades which makes sense why so many people want to see a certain thing out of the character. The MCU has pretty much been the only way to see these characters other than the comics, save for a few low budget movies and tv shows. I wonder if they reboot and change some things if people will freak out, I already see fans freaking out all over their current comic stories which I'm luckily not following.

People will freak out over a Marvel reboot, but only because Marvel will change all the characters to females and minorities like the comics. I actually have no problem with Cavill as Superman. I just think they missed the mark on the story in Man of Steel. Oh well, I'm sure there will be another 5-10 Superman movies in my lifetime.

Maybe one day I'll give Smallville a full chance, I only occasionally watched an episode and I watched the full last season with the Superman reveal ending fail. Arrow is now unwatchable lol.

I seriously believe the MCU is as well received as it is only because it has been the only big budget versions of these characters they've ever done. I actually do like cheesy shows and movies. I usually have to have some nostalgic feeling towards it to enjoy it at my age now though.

Yeah they are kind of irritating me. I just think that all of their movies are the exact same one over and over again, they are totally formulaic. I still can't figure out why Iron Man 3 is rated so high either. I love that DC is at least willing to take some risks, and I like that we've gotten so many different interpretations of Batman and Superman over the decades. I'm not so sure you feel the same way though, but I'm sure they'll give you a Supes you love within the next 10 years.
