Hey Simon, haha, yep-up to them when they allow it to expire. Was initially planned as 24 hour sale, per their own e-mail. More time to catch bargains, for those that wish to do so, though:)

thank you! this was the first true steel order i have made. no turning back now....sigh, my wallet it going to hate me

i dont enjoy complaining but i wish zavvi would stop these (what can only be described as) shenanigans.

a 24 hour sales should be exactly that.

people should not defend or promote actions which are literally dishonest.

check the trading standards site

''If a trader misleads a consumer or engages in an aggressive commercial practice and the consumer makes a decision to purchase goods or services which they would not otherwise have done, the trader may be in breach of the regulations.''

when given (as advertised,) 24 hours to purchase something at a low price, it gives the consumer a sense of urgency- ie they might rush to buy a product thinking if they dont, they wont get it for that price the next day.

by zavvi simply extending the sale time when the 24 hours is up, it makes a mockery (and practically) defrauds all those who made purchases during the first 24 hours.

its dishonest and misleading. what is to stop them from simply extending it again and again, thereby making the original claim of it being a 24 hr sale totally false.

they could have just called it a sale.

in short, its false advertising.

Maybe they will have another 24h sale soon with even lower prices;) That is always the game, not only with online retailers. Thus for me it does not make a difference if the 24h sale is extended or will be exchanged by another sale. Most important for me is that I can purchase the steelbooks at reasonable Prices now. Although some of them I already purchased at initial full cost... But that's zavvi life and we all should know how to deal with it by now.

Best wishes,

Michael

Dilemmas as to the Pan's Labyrinth steelbook. I have the Del Toro collection with it in (the one with the pop-up scene in the front which is great as well. aaahh

Only with Zavvi could someone moan about good prices being available for longer than advertised. Maybe they should stick with the RRP and never reduce prices, no nasty surprises then ;)

It's the title of this thread which is now misleading....

Hub, the thread title reflects the name of the retailer's sale. The '24' hour note was removed days ago.

Hopefully the extension of the sale simply allows more people to catch any titles they may want to add. And they have not included anything released very recently, which caused many collectors to be upset because they had pre-ordered.

Enjoy the sale, however long they choose to keep it live, guys! :scat:

DB, the link in the OP points to the Retailer which doesn't describe this as a "Flash Sale" (or no longer does) but the title of this thread does...It's now more of an special Offer sale. We've gone from a Flash Sale > 24 Hours > Offer then maybe Mega Monday

It's nothing about items being extended at a great price but the thread title wording...

I think some are missing the point. Of course extending the sale is a good thing but once again it's Zavvi showing themselves as being incompetent. I had an email from them advertising the 24hr sale and then 2 days later a further email advertising the same sale! At the very least they could have removed the 24hr part. It's not the first time it's happened either. Past sales advertised as 24hr have been extended too.

It just looks bad and unprofessional if you ask me.

Hey guys, the link in the OP has not changed since the start of the sale-it always went to the titles that were linked to their own '24 hour flash sale' e-mail graphic (which I removed from the OP, once the originally advertised '24 hour period' had passed, because the sale was clearly extended. The page itself with the items on sale, never said 'Flash Sale', but that is how it was sent to us, and via their e-mail database with the original graphic below.

Many retailers choose to extend sales on a daily basis even after originally planning them for a limited time, so lets dial down the negativity here.

It is their prerogative whether or not they wish to extend their own sale. Members of course have an option not to take advantage of any of the items:)

Any opportunities for our members, regardless from what retailers are posted on our site, so that savings opportunities to those who seek them are made known. Once they let us know the sale has passed, the thread will be closed as always.

Thanks in advance for contributing to keeping the threads on track.
