CHINA: Yes, as noted above reportedly banned in CHINA in spite of the name change there to SPECIAL TASK FORCE X (to get "Suicide" out of the title) in an attempt by the studio to pacify the Chinese censors . . . together with the film's "P-G 13" (!?) rating.
Looks like that wasn't enough, though, and appears that the film didn't fit the Chinese criteria for films which "Don't do anything to propagate a negative outlook on life, worldview and value system" and with this film's villains that a bit of a big ask (lol).

SRI LANKA: Not just "Banned" in China but also, according to one report, banned in SRI LANKA or rather pulled from cinemas at the last moment (a country which screened the "R" rated "Deadpool"!).
Reasons for it being pulled have been put down to certain turbulent events in Sri Lanka's recent history and according to one commentator:-
"Sri Lanka had a bloody civil war from 1983 to 2009. The government fought the LTTE, an organisation that popularized suicide bombing (inventing suicide belts) and whose fighters carried cyanide capsules on their necks. A 'Suicide Squad' may bring up unpleasant memories.Or, maybe, it's because the country had at least until recently, one of the higher suicide rates in the world."
Another source, however, has it down as a film Right's Issue and nothing more sinister:-
"Public Performance Board Chairman Saman Athaudahetti said that there was no move to ban the screening of 'Suicide Squad' in Sri Lankan theatres.
Speaking to Asian Mirror on the rumored ban on the movie, he said that the movie is not even available in the country for release in theatres. Therefore there is no question of it being banned, he said.
Athaudahetti also maintained that the policy of banning movie was an outdated policy."
MEXICO: "Banned" in MEXICO but again nothing sinister there - because Cinemex, the country’s cinema chain, refused to sign a deal with Universal Pictures Mexico (the film’s distributor) because they changed the terms at the last minute.
If it's 100% true about the SUICIDE SQUAD Chinese ban then the film will sit in good company with these also having been banned / not released there:

- GHOSTBUSTERS 2016
- CRIMSON PEAK
- BACK TO THE FUTURE
- LARA CROFT TOMB RAIDER: THE CRADLE OF LIFE
- PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN'S CHEST
- STAR WARS
- THE DA VINCI CODE
- AVATAR (2D only!?)
- FAREWELL MY CONCUBINE
- BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN
- NOAH
- BEN-HUR (1959)
- MEMOIRES OF A GEISHA
- THE DARK KNIGHT
- THE DEPARTED
. . . and so on . . .
