Haha!!! I never knew there was a market for steelbooks in India.
There isn't a big market, of course. But there are some steelbook collectors here too. This is the first wave of Blu-ray steelbooks in India maybe because the company is testing how these do on the market. If the sales are good, then maybe we can expect more such steelbooks :scat:

Are there other steelbook releases in india?

i only know Dhobi Ghat or something like that from india...

Right now I'm only aware of Taken 2, Skyfall & Prometheus 3D. Will definitely post if I come across any more steelbooks exclusive to India or any other country.

Cheers!

Assuming that all the Taken 2 Steelies are the same (which I doubt), all the similar steelbooks must have been made together (Most probably in China :naughty:) and then exported to different countries where they went on to be called as exclusives whereas the basic product remains the same. And the only differences were slipcovers, if any (Taiwan, Korea, HMV, etc.), which, seriously speaking, is nothing special.

But I think the Asian releases are all the same having the same text while the HMV exclusive might have been different because it had the text printed in pink color instead of the orange color of the Asian steels. Though you can correct me if I'm wrong because even I don't have a very clear picture regarding the design of the HMV Steelbook or if it is different or not.

lol they will struggle to distribute this across india never mind canada!
Well done india hope the market picks up, lot more customers is good for me :D

it's weird though b/c it gives me the option to put in a Canadian address. If they don't ship world wide whats the point of that option I wonder

"Infibeam.com gladly accepts orders from all around the globe across many products. Available product lines, shipping rates and fees may vary depending on the delivery address for your order."

I guess steelbooks must not be amongst the product lines they send internationally, so the address option is there just for other products?

Maybe you're right VRob98. But I think if you send a mail to them, then they might agree on a special request, though I highly doubt it.

Blayze17, if they don't agree or if you would like, I'm here in India. If you're really interested in this one, I can get it for you. Please let me know.

Cheers!

I don't understand why they can't put up the picture of the actual product, instead of showing what looks like the amaray in a slipcase

Has anyone actually seem the Indian release of Prometheus steel?

+1

Since Taken 2 is a worldwide release, I would say that the steel is essentially the same all over the world. It's only the slip which is different.

As for Prometheus, haven't seen one but again the steelbook will most probably be the same as other ones out there, but with a different slip.

Cheers!
