Word of caution from an UK HDN Member about HMV (thanks VRob98)

People should just be aware of 2 things:

1) If you receive a damaged or faulty copy from now on, you will not receive a replacement or refund

2) If they charge your card and are then unable to fulfil your order, you will not be refunded.

The way a company operates whilst under administration is quite different to how it operates normally, and certain consumer rights are suspended. If anything goes wrong you would have to apply to the administrator or claim against your credit card issuer.

I'd encourage everyone who has orders in with HMV to consider the above, as I'd hate to see anyone here lose their money in all of this.

Some HMV ex-employee said that Fox pulled out their HMV exclusives few weeks back due to them being in administration.

I don't think it would have been JB Hifi specifically, but I imagine it is possible that the stock could've been distributed elsewhere (probably a few more copies for each of the countries that is releasing it). It would be a shame if that was the case as the alternatives are pretty pricey compared to what HMV were selling it at. I only hope that this matches up to the quality of past Fox/MGM releases (I thought it was Sony at first but it seems they were only responsible for the cinema release) i.e. The Terminator and GoldenEye.

I e-mailed Scanavo last week asking what their plans were with this now that HMV have folded. Got a response this morning:

Hi Kay,

Thank you for your email and support.

I am sorry to let you know we do not know what’s going to happen with HMV and their exclusive releases.
