Word of caution from an UK HDN Member about HMV (thanks VRob98)

People should just be aware of 2 things:

1) If you receive a damaged or faulty copy from now on, you will not receive a replacement or refund

2) If they charge your card and are then unable to fulfil your order, you will not be refunded.

The way a company operates whilst under administration is quite different to how it operates normally, and certain consumer rights are suspended. If anything goes wrong you would have to apply to the administrator or claim against your credit card issuer.

I'd encourage everyone who has orders in with HMV to consider the above, as I'd hate to see anyone here lose their money in all of this.

I find it a bit unprofessional that Amazon are reducing the price upon request, rather than doing it automatically... doesn't seem fair at all. I'm tempted to email them a genuine complaint asking them to lower the price for everyone... surely that would save time for everyone (ourselves and Amazon).

I agree, it shouldnt be changed for anyone who ordered after the price change (and i am uncluded in that bracket)

I know theyre trying to be helpful but they should just have said no to everyone and let the people who preordered the amaray get the free upgrade for taking the plunge

Will be intereted to see what they say in reply to you

So they're not going to honour the price do you then? That's a bit harsh, they can't just pick and chose who they decide to price match and who they don't? I ordered my copy on the afternoon of the 29th so doubt theyd change the price for me either? What's the deal with Skyfall also? Has this happened with that aswell?

Just saw you post, thats crap. I placed my order with them on the 30th and they changed the price for me, could be that I told them I was a loyal customer for over 10 years and some other crap

Well email sent, basically said I find it unfair that people who didn't even order the reel originally get it cheaper but us steelbook collectors who had our orders with HMV and had to have them cancelled then hung on to buy it from amazon hav to pay full whack?! Let you know what happens

I no i havent, but come on guys get yourselfs down who have had it, i believe everybody should get the reduced price. How can you have all the people who ordered the normal edition and get the steelbook upgrade at a cheaper price than people who ordered the steelbook. Ridiculous and disgusting.

Well said .... Been arguing for an hr on the phone and just finished .... basically was told that the reponses on here about getting it cheaper were fraudulant despite having him follow on his screen and reading the post numbers so he could see them as well !

So I guess all us forum members are lying to each other are we
