Word of caution from an UK HDN Member about HMV (thanks VRob98)

HMV now in administration said:
People should just be aware of 2 things:

1) If you receive a damaged or faulty copy from now on, you will not receive a replacement or refund

2) If they charge your card and are then unable to fulfil your order, you will not be refunded.

The way a company operates whilst under administration is quite different to how it operates normally, and certain consumer rights are suspended. If anything goes wrong you would have to apply to the administrator or claim against your credit card issuer.

I'd encourage everyone who has orders in with HMV to consider the above, as I'd hate to see anyone here lose their money in all of this.

no i didnt rick lol i was on the free chat for an hour, i certainly wasnt phoning for an hour. it seems they wont update my price now but if email back after release and they havent refunded then they will seems odd to me.
 
After I received the email earlier from Amazon, basically stating I wasn't going to get my 2 steels reduced, I thought I would get them to phone me..........10 min's later, both this and Skyfall reduced to £11.99!:D

Here's my reply from Amazon, basically saying I got no chance of a price change

I understand that there was a price change for your order ******** with the item Taken 2 - Limited Edition Steelbook (Blu-ray + UV Copy). First of all, I would like to apologise for the inconvenience this has caused you. Secondly, I would like to thank you for taking the time in bringing this immediately to our attention.

I have checked and could see that the price for the item should be lower that expected. I have searched further and the promotion for the price of £9.91 is only up to 29 January 2013 09:10AM. I have checked and could see that you have ordered the item Tuesday, 29 January 2013 15:50.

Please understand that there was a time frame given to avail of the promotional price of the item. I'm afraid that you were not able to make it since you have placed your order 3:50PM.

Please understand that we would never want to disappoint a valued customer like you. We always endeavour to assist our customer with the best of our service so we can ensure that we fulfill all of their needs, however sometimes we fail to do so due to factors out of our control. I am truly sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you.
Firstly I never told Amazon the price was £9.91, secondly my point was how I felt it unfair that the people who waited for the steelbook to be rereleased had to pay full price yet this who only ordered the amaray and probably did ages ago get the steelbook anyway and cheaper. If I'd bought the amaray and been upgraded I'd probably complain because if I ordered it's because that's what I wanted. They seem to be picking and choosing who they decide to honour the price with? Quoting that people ordered the steelbook outside the timeframe of the lower price when thats not the point, I appreciate and understand how the price match guarantee works but this is about a fairness to amazons customers.

Looks like I've just written my reply to amazon right there, going to try again one last time as they completely missed the point of my email. Might try adding the link to this thread for fear of being called a fraud!

Ps why do people keep mentioning getting Skyfall reduced as well? There's no mention of a price change in the Skyfall thread?

Get them to call you back, much easier to get it sorted when your talking to someone.

I don't have the time or patience for that... especially since I have a 3 year old kid to keep entertained today. Found their email through Google now anyway.
 
I got an email back last night saying that if I reply to that email once items are dispatched they'll refund the difference between RRP & the lower price :D
