I finally got the Lenticular copy at a very reasonable price. I now understand why there's so much buzz and demand for this precious metal. IMO one of the best lenticular steels out there. Kimchi did an excellent job on this.

They outdid there selves on this edition. I still wonder why it took so long sell out

I remember back in January when I really got a taste for steelbooks. I saw this one still in stock at Kimchi, but I didn't really understand the appeal of it and I didn't buy it.
A few months later I got my eyes open and finally understood how stupid I was. Had to get the lenti on ebay. Wasn't the worst price, but still. Curse my past unknowing self!

This was one of the weirdest mysteries. Given all the excitement before its release, it was really strange that it seemed never to sell out. Perhaps the release price at $45 to $49 at that time was like a new high and people just wouldn't bite.

And now everybody is clamouring for one. Quite hilarious really. I even returned one with a long scratch on the lenticular. I'm sure no one would mind that scratch now for $50. Lol.

Not really. This release came out very very late -- at a time when the movie itself was already in the bargain bin.

Anyone who paid for this was buying it as a collectible and for the SteelBook. In 20 years, there will likely be a lot of sealed ones available.

I think that makes perfect sense, add to that the fact that kimchi steelbooks in general weren't as sought after as they are now.

More than likely, in 20 years, blu ray steelbooks will be as good as dead.

Trust me. Your story is not alone. We all have done the same thing with one steel or another.

I respectfully disagree @tristar6
While it's one of the best out there, for Kimchi I prefer Thor 2 Lenti
Overall, my favorite so far is Blufans Monsters Uni Lenti

I disagree as well. My favorite is the Predator Lenti. Mainly because that movie was the greatest thing I had ever seen as a kid in the Theater and I love the heat vision effect and 2nd for me is the Monster U Blufans(Even My Fiance likes it and she wants to kill me everytime she sees an amazon or zavvi box). It kills me that I didn't get this Tangled one but it sold out so I settled for the 1/4 slip which blows compared to this one especially in person.
