Received mine today in white boxes looks absolutely stunning, but am worried because I also received my copy of ALIEN finally and that came in the pathetic brown envelope with no bubble wrap. Hoping they haven't run out of boxes again. :ohno:

Where is your objectivity, snooloui?

Kimchi 44.99 $ => 36 EUR
Zavvi 20.99 GBP => 28 EUR

It's not even near half.

Talking about the steelbooks themselves, I do like the Zavvi one more with the emobssing myself. But the Kimchi one has this fantastic lenti cover. So both are ecxcellent in their own ways.

So, just trolling richt? ;-)

A lenti is just a separate piece of plastic, doesn't do your argument any favours.
This one doesn't need to hide behind a slip.
Compare the steelbooks.

What is better about it?

I prefer the artwork, especially the inside and it has cool embossing that the Kimchi edition doesn't have. The Kimchi edition does have the nice lenticular slip but in terms of the Steelbook design, I think the Zavvi edition is better.

The actual price was $49.99 with the cheapest postage option costing around $10. Using the XE Currency Converter that equates to £37.90 at the current exchange rate. I used a discount code when I placed my Zavvi order so it cost £18.94 which is 1p less than half the price. There are a few variables such as the Kimchi offer price and differing postage rates and I could have disregarded the discount on the Zavvi edition, but the bottom line is that the Zavvi edition is a lot cheaper.

Agreed with some people....snooloui, this is nowhere near as nice as the kimchi exclusive but....each to their own. But its nowhere near half the price....

The colours on the Kimchi one are so vibrant and the gloss finish is excellent - I can't really tell from the pictures of this how good the finish is yet but the colours are not as vibrant. I also don't like the blue border on this one, the Kimchi one takes the artwork to the edge of the steelbook which is a preference of mine.

Ok. Agree.

Not agree. If you want to simplify a lenti cover to a piece of plastic, you can also call the steelbook itself only a piece of metal.

IMO, it's the artwork and the execution of it which make a difference. And this lenti cover , and I'm not talking about those postcards which no one needs, DOES change the look of the steelbook on the shelf essentially.

Like I said, I also like the Zavvi steelbook more. But do you think the Kimchi one needed to hide behind a slip?

Peace.

Don't forget Kimchi also offered the 1/4 slip version which is gorgeous, and there's also a Korean full slip version. Lots of choice for everyone !!

The KimchiDVD Tangled price was $44.99 when the pre-order went live:

Probably they raised the price after a few days, as they often do with their exclusive releases.

Both steels look great in their own ways but I do prefer this ones art work and colour to kimchi's one but again both are gorgeous looking steels.

The Kimchi Lenticular is by far the best version of Tangled hands down. Anyone who bought it would know this. The resale value on it is massive as well. $200+ is very common.

Some would say the same about paying that for any steel. Its a collectors market. Its all about how rare and in demand any steel is at any given time. Alot of people think paying $300 for a FS IM is crazy as well. Heck it only cost $30 to buy on release day. Its only a piece of media wrapped in $1 worth of tin.

Do you see where I am going with this?

I had the same issue with a Disney SteelBook before and it seemed as it was posted out before 'official' release date it wasn't in the system yet. As this is not supposed to be released until 10th so you may have to wait until then.

Yep I had the same problem with The Fox and the Hound

Same here, but it still didn't work after the official release date, so I had to arrange for the points to be added manually. As its happened before, you would have thought they could have got their act together by now. But then, we are talking about Zavvi...

Seriously stunning steel, but still prefer the front art on my Kimchi over this art. Still, they will look nice together. :thumbs:

Oh how I wish now that the Frozen steel had been gloss!
