in the context of this film, its totally irrelevant (and bizarre) to have the earth on the front cover. they barely even leave the sewers. so the claustrophobic new york streets in the original poster was fitting with the film.

we get it- they are leaving the sewers and going out into the world. we dont need a massive stock image of the earth pasted onto the cover.

Yeah. I held off getting the 3-movie edition to see what this would be like, but it is awful artwork, doesn't have either of the original logos (poster / in-movie), and by the sounds of it is the same disc as the 3-movie version anyway!

Digging it

I'm kinda digging this one. It's not perfect, but I like the attempt. I actually appreciate that Zavvi is trying to bring us so many options and they cannot be beat on price with shipping to the U.S.. Thanks Zavvi!

The embossing & gloss sounds awesome, but that artwork,.. I keep staring at it, trying to find some sort of symbolism to WHY the planet is there,..

Warning: naughty language:
I just keep seeing

I can't un-see it now.. :hilarious:

What studio is releasing this? We should get a poll going to get this changed. Probably impossible at this point but damn that mock up is terrible

I hope that is tentative artwork, and not the final product! Aside from the obvious lack of title and sky replaced by the Earth, I am opposed to the lack of a spine title. I also don't like how the rim of the SteelBook is silver, and looks more like a StickerBook to me (even though confirmed as not). I hope that they choose to make the rim of the SteelBook navy colour to blend in with the rest of the design

Looks like a really bad fan mock-up to me! Remove the Earth, it looks ridiculous! Let's hope that this hasn't gone to print yet!

If there is nothing on the spine, in my opinion it's raw art work, and closer to the release there will be final version of it.

Who nows, maybe it's good to sugest Tony to do this movie, or the whole trilogy:) 9 pack, with 3 steels for each one...this could be monumetal;)

Terrible artwork IMO and a ridiculous price for a catalogue title. I'll stick with my $9.99 US trilogy amaray :D

Dude this is not cool, I was looking forward to the TMNT release, thumbs down to the current artwork, why is there a parallel earth visible? Those are some strong drugs the designer was on, I really hope this is not the final cover. :(

I must be the only one who thinks this isn't that bad :dunno:

Yeah I'm not mad about the 'earth' bit, but if it's embossed and glossy like they say, it should look quite nice in hand.

This ISN'T a Zavvi Exclusive though as far as I know. I thought it was going to be widely available so expect Zavvi to have the highest price....

Apparently it is now, this was posted yesterday

1990′s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is heading to steelbook on June 30th with a Zavvi exclusive

Check out our exclusive look at the artwork below. The artwork will be gloss with embossed faces & manhole cover. We understand the release will be a limited print run of either 2500 or 3000 copies.

Extras should include a 30 minute doc and trailers.

Pre-orders will hopefully be live on the 17th of May, but we’ll confirm nearer the time. The price will be £16.99 (at the time of writing it says £19.99, but this will change).

This release was initially offered via other retailers in error, then pulled when the mistake was spotted. Existing pre-orders with Zavvi will be honoured at the new price. If you ordered this elsewhere expect to get a cancellation notification soon.

WOW, how difficult is it it get someone who knows what they're doing to design a steelbook? It's not that hard, anyone with Photoshop experience and the original poster can do better than that. It looks like a stickerbook with its silver edges, there's no title on the spine, no title on the front, and a giant Earth for no reason whatsoever. What a disaster.

Might have picked this up if the artwork had been brilliant, because lets be honest it's one of the worst films ever made lol! Not even gloss saves this!:hilarious:

Are you having a laugh? The film has stood the test of time very well. It holds up far better than most of the films I loved as a child. It's a cult classic and very dark for a "family" film - much darker than the family films of today.
