Look, basically all I'm asking for is a bit of honesty. If the print run was increased from 1500, I want this to be fully disclosed, don't insult my intelligence. To be honest, it makes perfect sense to increase the print run, as businesses exist to make money. Why sell 10 TV's when you can sell 10 000? I believe in the beginning, the print run was 1500. But interest is so great, that this print run has increased multiple times. Just be upfront about it, thats all. I realize this can be hard if you've said it 1000 times before, and now go back on what was said can be hard. But it would be the right thing to do.

As for the people who don't like my post, even though these posts are my own views, they are ultimately about all of us. All of us are collectors of steels, or we wouldn't be in this forum. For some odd reason, I'm always the one that speaks out. I know for a fact that there are many people that agrees with me, but for some reason, are keeping silent. I don't mind this job. I want it be know to all that if you are releasing a steel here, you better have all your I's dotted and T's crossed. Because theres this Stevo guy that is not afraid, and will ask you the tough questions. Its a tough and thankless job, but someones gotta do it.

So you're actually saying that you're certain this release has a print run higher than 1500?

And I don't mind your posts. I actually quite like them even if I don't agree with the point you're making and the fact that you still haven't commented on the points I made in regard to your T2 vs H&G statement but then again I've seen you do that a few times before so I'm not really shocked.
I more than welcome your opinions and questions but after countless posts about print run from several users and after Choi had confirmed that it's still a 1500 print run you keep asking the same question.
A little unnecessary if you ask me. I know you didn't but like you I'm allowed to express my opinion.

A quick question. Apart from the extras such as the postcards and the slip how does the steelbook itself differ from say, the UK or German release?

Having read what Choi has posted it would appear to be 1500 with the exclusives from KimChi and the print run is somewhere about 4000 and being sold throughout Korea.

So no the print run is not 1500 but yes 1500 is the exclusive version available.

Does this make sense as that is how I have read it...

Embossing, title, back art, inside art. Maybe the finish as well but I'm not sure about that one.

That's how the majority have read it (about 40 pages back). Unfortunately the minority persist in clogging up this thread with speculation and nonsense.

Am I certain it is over 1500? Absolutely not. How can I be? My uncertainties are based on the following 2 assumptions.

1) An extremely popular title like T2 should have sold out a long long time ago. IMO, there is absolutely no way that an obscure title like Hansel & Gretel can sell out in less than 1 hour, while T2 cannot sell out in 3 months. No way, I don't care what you say. Just debating the fan base of the 2 is absurd, if you choose to do that, I'll let you argue with yourself.

2) I'm of the opinion that businesses are there to make money! Imagine that! I'm thinking that if I, or anyone else owns a car dealership, I'd wanna sell 100 cars a month, and not 2. Just too hard for you to believe huh? I understand. But seriously, If the demand for this title is, let say 5000, then why not print 5000? I would. I'm not faulting Kimchi if they print more, stop barking up the wrong tree. It would make absolute common sense if they did. I ask that if they did, just be honest about it. Is that just too damn much to ask?

So no, I do not know with absolute 100% certainty that this print run is over 1500. But I will say my 2 assumptions are pretty sound. I don't need to stand on the surface of the sun to know its hot. I can tell its hot perfectly from where I am.

1. Hansel & Gretel is far from obscure. It debuted at #1 and did better than expected. It stars one of the hottest male actors today, Jeremy Renner, and a very well known female lead in Gemma Arterton (sp?).

2. The UK is crazy for steelbooks and probably 100% of the collectors there know about play.com. Realistically, how many people in the UK do you think know about KimchiDVD?

I wonder if Tony reads this thread?
If he does, i'm sure all this mindless, redundant BS about the print run has turned him away from even considering a second exclusive release.

Seriously, i just can't believe this is still going on. All the energy wasted on this ridiculous banter. How about taking that energy somewhere positive, and sending Tony an email to let him know how much you appreciate the fact that he's busting his ass on this release, and has been running such a wonderful Korean retailer which has provided A LOT of us with a steady flow of awesome imports? Maybe compliment him on the quality of the packages they ship out, while you're at it.

Several people, including moderators have mentioned that it'd be a good idea to get this thread back on track, and be done with the print run nonsense. Choi has confirmed the numbers on several occasions....everything said about it now is just a waste of peoples' time.

A lot of us are subscribed to this thread, and receive a notification each time there's a new post made. Please be a little more considerate of that fact, and try to actually contribute to this thread, and the release itself.

:wtf: T2 is an old movie, I would bet nearly everyone on here already owns it in one form or another (at last count I have had at least 8 different versions on different formats) it also has to be ordered from Korea and i'm sure a fair few people are not comfortable with ordering from other countries and the ones that are would not be ordering in large quantities.

Hansel & Gretel is a new movie that no one currently owns it(ok as a movie its no where near as good as T2) but it is much easier to order from a company that most on here have already used (Play.com) add to the fact that the Jack Reacher exclusive for one reason and another ended up fetching silly money so on the back of that a lot of people ordered multiple copies.

So I think its very easy to see why H&G sold out so quickly and T2 hasn't :)

Edit: Now stevo can we just call it a day and get back to the T2 steelbook which I can't wait for (version number 9 :D )

First let me say this: When you make an assumption you make an ass out of u and mption.

1) An extremely popular title that there are many editions for on steel and otherwise.

It has to be imported from Korea which many collector's won't do. This cuts down the potential for scalping which I suspect is a big reason why H&G and similar titles sell out so fast in the UK. But apparently the great stevo that has an insane amount of rules don't know about scalpers in the UK.
I would have assumed that you did but I apparently just made an ass out of myself.

You don't care what I say? Well I guess there's no need to discuss this anymore then. :p

Was gonna comment on your 2nd assumption but since there's no way that an obscure title like Hansel & Gretel can sell out in less than 1 hour, while T2 cannot sell out in 3 months (hasn't been available for 3 months) there's just no reason to try to talk to you about this.
You've taken your stand and you won't budge. Impossible to have a discussion with someone that takes that kind of stand. So if you want to discuss something again in the future be it with me or someone else, I'd suggest not taking such a tough stand but you've probably already taken a stand to take a stand in the future so you wont change.

Nice talking to you. :)

Can't f'ing wait for pics of this beast!! Gonna be awesome!
