I see this release as being a potential game changer for Korean steels in general. Kimchidvd are going to significantly increase their overseas customer base off the back of this exclusive, and the fact that just one retailer is able to move 1500 copies of a title has implications for future releases. Typically we've seen Korean releases issued in very small quantities (sometimes as low as 200) and then sell out very quickly, but if Tony can negotiate higher runs in future that could all change.

I think this one of the reasons why people are still so intrigued at the quantity produced - because this is such a groundbreaking release in many ways, it could set a new model for future Korean releases.

I agree Rob this has the potential to be a game changer, especially for KimchiDVD.

Unfortunately, the major talk in this thread is about the quantity not the quality. I thought it was the other way around, but I guess I'm wrong.

I long that KimchiDVD doesn't see this thread and get the wrong impression. Also that they will again hear our opinions on their next exclusive steelbook. They already did so much on what we asked for on Terminator 2 (i.e. full slip, special finishes). Thanks to Choi of course. Who knows KimchiDVD can be the Asian Zavvi.

Why does there always have to be a discussion about whether it's stupid to care about the quantity or not? It's obvious some (/a lot of) people care and you should respect that...just like people respect it the other way around.

In fact, you could qualify the quantity of a steelbook as a strong factor for the quality of the release in general. I thus do not understand why it is usually considered 'negative' feedback when the print-run is discussed, but 'positive' feedback when stuff like embossing/slips is discussed.

For this release, it's obvious that the print-run plays an important role and the inconsistency of the updates are a reason for that. That doesn't mean 'all is negative'. Not at all...(I personally don't even consider it as negative feedback). This forum is just meant to discuss/ share ideas and opinions, and this is simply part of it. The main reason we're all here is because we love steelbooks and want to share the passion. We shouldn't care 'why' we love them.

+1. Isn't a print run of the steelbook part of the 'actual' steelbook release? I would like to clarify that I do not buy steels for the purpose of trading / selling. I do not even have a trade thread either here or on another forum / online marketplace.

I do get irked when people assume that a discussion of the print run automatically makes the participants scalpers or black marketeers.. I have as much an interest in the print run as I have in the steel art and build, and that does not make me a bad person.

And I've kept my order on the steel despite the discussion on print run coz I really do like the way this release is shaping up. Like most other folks on here. Hope Kimchi under commit and over deliver

As original design of back cover, there is spec printed on the cover, it may let collectors to be so sad for Terminator 2 Korean edition,
Today I discussed with Kimchi DVD to change NO PRINTED SPEC ON BACK COVER, ONLY Arnold Schwarzenegger design only. ONCE MORE !! NO PRINTED SPEC ON BACK COVER AT ALL.

This was made by HDN Member contribute most fantastic Terminator 2 steelbook so far.
I'm very glad to write this news for memebers

2. Slipcover design almost done, It will be shared with you in HDN and Kimchi DVD
As I told you before, Full slipcover with emobossed on title as Terminator 2

I tried to mark number on front or back cover but It does not come true but we will have more exciting news with slipcover soon.

Hi Choi, the specifications not being printed on the back is huge news. Thank you very much for getting this changed! This steel keeps getting better and better. Cannot wait to see the slip

Sorry if it's been asked before, but who do we contact about combining shipping if you ordered this more than once? Kimchi site itself?

Thanks.

yeah I was wondering about this too, I have ordered two of these T2 steelbooks and had to pay twice the shipping fees

By the way, awesome news for the printed back !!
