mine has about 5 tiny paint chips and about 5 or 6 very light scratches and a few of them on the front, I must be about the only one who got one like this.

Finally got mine today:oohyeah:. I have also the Terminator 2 UK steelbook but i have to admit this one is a beauty  and so far one of the best releases in 2013

Can't wait to see the KIMCHIDVD EXCLUSIVE # 3 :naughty:

Mine has issues like this too, but thankfully not severe enough for me to bother with a replacement.

we don't have much luck mate lol, yeah its annoying but thankfully the paint chips are underneath the steelbook mostly and the light scratches are on the front bottom right side and aren't too noticeable

Yep, I've lost count the number of steels I've had which are not ''mint''. I'd even go as far as saying that at least 70% of my collection have slight damage. Thing is, I'm really not that picky/OCD, but I do have a level of imperfections I can tolerate, anything beyond and it goes back for a refund.

On my copy of this, there is also a paint chip on the bottom and a couple on the bottom corner on the front, but they're pin-prick size which I can tolerate. Also, the scratches on mine are so light they haven't taken the paint off so can't be seen when on display (I find these same type of very light scratches on a lot of matte finished steelbooks).

Well guys after dealing with all sorts and types of steelbooks, I can say that a steelbook is a very delicate product. Even cleaning it couple of times with a microfiber would start showing some light marks on it.

And this came in a cardboard slipcover and while in transit even the slightest movements cause friction and create such marks let alone the first time the slipcover was slid onto it.

So, that means almost everyone would be having some marks on their steel, maybe microscopic but will be there, no matter what.

The only solution to have mint steels is to shrink wrap them and then put a slipcover over them and then shrink wrap the whole package. And, of course good packaging always helps in which people at Kimchi are expert

Oh well, just saw, my 300th post! :)

yeah I can live with the imperfections on this steel, it could be worse and it is obviously better than been dented, other than that it is a quality looking steelbook:thumbs:

These marks to me look like from manufacturing. Too many steels at the moment are being damaged before being sealed. Anyhow, that's a discussion for another thread... :p

Mate,

You should try sticking custom inside artwork. You will be shocked to find out how low quality and flimsy the casing is. The plastic is the one that makes the case look firm and fit.

Otherwise the quality is absolute junk. At one point I even thought of quitting but decided to continue.

I know... ;)

With you on this one Igans.

I tried a repair job (which was less than successful) on a damaged copy of Amadeus. After removing the cover from the casing, I was shocked at just how flimsy the things are. I've got a Quality Street tin here and by comparison that feels like Robocop's body armour. :D

Received mine earlier this week. Packaging is probably the best I've ever seen for a steelbook, big props to kimchi DVD for going the extra mile on this! Other retailers should take note. My steelbook does have 2 very small scratches unfortunately. One on the top and one on the bottom. The scratches are small though, the size of a spec of dirt, and as they are on the top and bottom they can't be seen when displayed so I'm not really bothered by it. I don't think I've ever received a steelbook that was 100% mint anyway.

Otherwise, this is an extremely nice steelbook, my favourite steelbook in my collection so far. For those of you that have opened it, what did you do with the slip?

Received mine today....In Prrrfct condition! I'm one of those 30 lucky ones who pre-ordered the day before release date from the cancelled orders...I would say that, I was in the right site at the right time for this one... otherwise would have to pay the price.
