James Cameron is a huge proponent of 3D. So he will push for it but I am worried he will change the aspect ratio which means we won't get the chance to watch the remastered feature in OAR.
I am NOT in favor of aspect ratio changes, but...
Cameron shot T2 in Super35 which is a non-anamorphic 2.35 Matte. He would simply be removing the top and bottom mattes and not losing anything.* But he would still have tons of headroom above the actors (and boom mics) and added image below. He would have to reframe carefully so it doesn't look weird.
(Anamorphic 2.35:1 images are actually that ratio, Super35 2.35:1 is basically a square image that you mask off to look like Anamorphic 2.35:1 (it has no added width like real Anamorphic)).

NOTE:
*there are Super35 "Hard" Mattes and "Soft" Mattes. "Hard" Mattes are used during the shooting- so they are actually part of the image- the reason directors used this is so that in video transfers people could not just remove the "soft Matte" and ruin the framing. (A kind of "idiot proofing"). ("Soft" Mattes are applied in post production, and are removeable).
So if Cameron did use a "hard" Super35 matte, it is subject to the same panning & scanning and cropping as any other anamorphic 2.35:1 scope film.

have noticed one thing about the full slip was this a miss print on the mock up or has this been in the pipe line for some time and have only just been given the go ahead to release as this is saying NE06 but there releasing it as NE10 ( get scooby doo and shaggy to solve the mystery lol )

So since the morphing looks kinda weird, I made one that transitions straight-forward. Here they are side-by-side for comparison. Some things still don't quite line up perfectly, but at least you don't get that swirling face and stretchy chin effect, lol. Still unsure if that morph is exactly how it's going to officially look though.
