I've been trying to ascertain exactly that. According to zehnachtzig.de, this is a 2 blu-ray disc set with the film (2D only) on the first disc and additional bonus material on the second disc. The exact details of the bonus material have yet to be announced.

As there has been no mention to date, of a bonus disc in respect of any of the UK releases of this title, it looks as though this may be an exclusive to the German release.

I've gone ahead and ordered this from amazon.de, as there were two other German steelbooks being released around the same time that I also wanted ("Noah" and "Sabotage"). That way, I can take advantage of their flat rate shipping charges which remain the same, irrespective of how many you order. Their price of Eur 21.99 for this is, in any event, only about 60p more than the £16.99 being charged by HMV.

Things may, of course, change in the next two months and it's going to be a case of watch this space.

But well they need to explain to us why those black parts were necessary, it's uncalled for.

The German site, bluray-disc.de, has provided details of the bonus content of the German Blu-ray release. These appear identical to that of other releases, where they are included on the same disc that contains the 2D version of the film.

1). Commentary by the film makers.
2). 4 Deleted scenes with commentary by director, Marc Webb.
3). 9 Additional deleted scenes with commentary by director, Marc Webb, including "Peter meets his father".
4). Alicia Keys "It's on Again" - Music video.
5). "The Reward of Heroism": The making of "The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Rise of Electro".
6). Over 100 minutes of detailed featurettes about the creation of "The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Rise of Electro".

It may, therefore, be the case that the bonus Blu-ray disc, provided in the German Steelbook edition, actually contains additional material to that listed above, the details of which have yet to be announced.

According to the announcements so far, this bonus disc appears exclusive to the German, French and Dutch Steelbook releases.

Given that the German Steelbook is available from amazon.de for EUR 19.99 (£16), this would appear better value than the UK release, unless you particularly want the poster. I'd rather have the bonus disc.

Since you obviously have information confirming that, perhaps a posting in the UK Steelbook thread would be beneficial. All the information posted there to date, still points to a single disc release. As recently as a few days ago, someone was asking there, as to whether the UK release would include the bonus disc but got no response.
