I love the remakes personally. As much as I love the first original 2 (the 2nd being the best of the trilogy) I think Garfield literally pisses over Toby's performance

Nobody mentioning that the film wasn't very good then? Unlikeable lead, bad guys not fleshed out enough. One of them so campy (Elektro) coulda come straight outta Batman & Robin, the other (Goblin) felt forced with little characterisation.

All in all, this film lacked the charm and identity of Raimi's Spidey 2. Just my two cents

well i aint seen this but it dont surprise me at all ...i been going on about how much the 1st movie sucked for a while now Good to see i'm not the only one on HDN who much prefers Raimi + Maguire + Dunst Spiderman :movie:

+1 The first one is the only one that I can tolerate, but the other two are absolute garbage.

I was disappointed with a few aspects of this movie, but it's still head and shoulders above Raimi's trilogy.

Will be passing on the steel though because I don't like the black border with the chosen design. Who knows, maybe it'll grow on me, but I won't hold my breath.

Think I'll be giving this steelbook a miss, that black border is just terrible and ruins the whole look of the steelbook, such a pity.

Will probably get this once it hits the shelves, don't think I'll pre-order it though as I already have more than enough pre-orders going on at the moment.
Guess I'll see what my funds are like when this releases.
Would be nice to go with the first amazing spider-man HMV exclusive.

I absolutely love this cover. Best steelbook I've seen this year I think. I can see why the black border would put some off but personally I don't mind it. It gives it a unique look, almost like a framed piece of art, and the rest of the colours are so vibrant it balances the cover well. The cover was taken from a horizontal image with thr other two villains on either side of Electro? Nice how we still see one of them on the giant TV screens in the background. A bit more subtle than "hey look at all the baddies in this movie!"

I'm afraid I'm another one who doesn't like the black border.

First of all, it seems to be a wide one* (like the FS Iron Man) not a thin one (like Play's Iron Man) which Sony are keen on using. Secondly, it leaves less room for the artwork. Thirdly, it doesn't match The Amazing Spider-Man (no version anywhere had a border), and finally, if the artwork took up the whole front then it would have made sense to deboss the title and Spider-Man's eye (not that I think it needs debossing).

Overall, I'm not that impressed and while yes, it will probably have vibrant colours and a nice glossy finish, it's just not quite as good as it could have been.

*assuming the top picture is right, not the one in the spoiler tag.

Looks like the picture is inside the embossing border, plenty of people moaning about the border but imo its not a problem. I think this will look great In hand and feel with the finish it says it has.
Seems that even the perfect steelbook would get people moaning about it lol.
