I noticed a lot of the earlier zavvi disney releases have a matt finish, is gloss going to be more frequent for future releases.

I expect so, I think Zavvi got the message from customers and passed it on to Disney. I would expect most, if not all the future Disney steels will be gloss because gloss trumps matte!

I think I prefer a matte finish for black Steelbooks, they look a lot classier to me. Lady and Tramp and Peter Pan really needed a gloss finish, I've said it before but Wreck-it Ralph looks nice IMO.
