I put my order in last night... it appears on my account details with order number etc, but still not had an e-mail through from Zavvi to confirm... is this usual for Zavvi as I normally get a confirmation e-mail through straight away?

At least one copy will be made available. I had to unfortunately cancel mine. Not havng a j-o-b at the moment has finally caught up with me. :(

I also cancelled my copy. It's a movie I will not watch more than once and I also open my steels, so investment is not an issue for me. Not into buying to whack them on eBay, either.

Still have There Will Be Blood and Aviator on pre order.

I guess the Ultra limited print run nostalgia got me for a while on this one!

i re watched this one yesterday and stills shocks me..i watched it again to see if i wanna go for the steelbook or not but who am i kidding ah; the steelbook looks great...March is gonna kill me.....lol...so many steels, but i'm gonna try to keep this one til the last moment, i dont wanna regret it later not to have it...

i cancelled my order.

read a few reviews.

the film is meant to be naive at best and offensive at worst. described as a holocaust film aimed a child/family audience...

a film aimed at a young audience is fine, but it apparently doesnt fit the sensitive subject matter as it means simplifying things to the point where it becomes detrimental.

i have too much expense as it is with the disney films, cant affort to have 'iffy' films in my collection.

The narrative's from a six year old kid, giving the movie this uniquely naïve (I like to think) approach to the idea of the Holocaust, hence the simplicity. It being aimed at families also helps kids get to know the idea OF the Holocaust without scaring the life out of them, like most well known movies about ~that~ are full of heavy, disturbing stuff, and no small child is going to want to sit through something like Schindler's List. It's in no way a perfect movie or a perfect take on that genre, but it's worth a watch, I'd say.

I disagree, I did not find this naive or offensive, it is simply a story told from the view of a young child who's father is commandant of a concentration camp.
I don't think it was simplified, as you suggest, the child has no reason to know what is going on in the camp and tell's a story as a child would. It's not suppose to be Schindlers List, it's a story of a young German befriending a young Jewish 'inmate' and is not detrimental at all.

You should really have rented it and decided for yourself rather than reviewing the film based on reviews.

This one had a really unique opportunity. Make the fence the sign, one boy either side. It'd have folded out and looked amazing! Have all the text, logos on the J-card.
