Format: Blu-ray

Directed by: Joe Dante

Synopsis: HE’S A MAN OF PEACE IN A SAVAGE LAND… SUBURBIA.
The films of director Joe Dante have taken us to some strange places – a mysterious Chinatown antique store in Gremlins; a secluded resort populated by werewolves in The Howling; even deep inside the human body in Innerspace. But now he takes us to the strangest place of all – surburbia!

Family man Ray Peterson (Tom Hanks) is looking forward to a week of putting his feet up at home in the quiet, leafy cul-de-sac of Mayfield Place. But his plans are scuppered by the arrival of new next-door neighbours, The Klopeks, whose behaviour and habits are more than just a little kooky. But things go from kooky to downright sinister when local old boy Walter disappears, leading Ray and his buddies to suspect their new neighbours of killing and eating him! Sure, the Klopeks are a strange bunch what with their digging up the backyard in the middle of the night – but they’re not devil-worshipping cannibal killers… are they?

If you’re looking for a knowing slice of tongue-in-cheek terror then look no further than The ’Burbs. A standout horror comedy from a director who has given us more than his fair share of fun frighteners, The ’Burbs assembles a superb cast including Tom Hanks, Bruce Dern, Carrie Fisher and Corey Feldman in a tall tale of small-town terror. You’ll never look at those eccentric neighbours in the same way again!

Price now will be cheapest you can get
Arrow Video offer pre order at a reduced price for usually first week then later put the price up

They ship early usually by week sometime 2 weeks early

There packaging I not had any problems yet

If you planning to cancel it be better to use Amazon or Zavvi but there prices will be higher but should reduce near release day

Note with Arrow you get reward points on average there 150 points or more depending on the price
on every order Reward Points 100 points = £1.00
So if you want best price and build up reward points and get other orders even cheaper and don't mind paying up front buying from arrow direct is best way to go

They ship free to UK
International shipping is £3.00 or free shipping on orders over £50.00
They have UK Sterling prices and € Euro prices on their Shop website

Payment with Arrow they use PayPal

£14.99 pre-order price 'til April 30th according to Arrow on Facebook (I asked them).

(February 28th is the deadline for Koyaanisqatsi/Powaqqatsi at £17.99 if anyone's interested too...so order before next Friday folks)

Interesting, didn't realise Arrow did reward points.

To be honest I thought Big Trouble in Little China would sell out for sure but it's still there, so I don't think there's a worry of any of today's announcements selling out. The question is will the price ever go lower for these. Some do, but some don't.

After April 30th price on Arrow Website will go up
They always give a reduced price for early pre order customers

Zavvi should take note of this its called rewarding customers to pre order and not be punished later to see price drop after release date

Amazon price will drop but it wont be as low as what Arrow have now

If you have the money now I place an order
If you have to wait till near release day you will pay more

You might see price drops after release date with Amazon and Zavvi but I expect this to sell very well more than big trouble in little china

Its Tom Hanks Worldwide his films sell well and The Burbs has not been available on Blu-ray before

The Reward Points are brilliant and you can get 100 reward points right now just by registering an account on arrow website

But do remember Arrow Video take payment immediately when you order

Extras you can expect some fantastic extras with arrow releases

I logged in to find I had some points already which I've used on Invasion of the Body Snatchers. I may order the Burbs closer to the end of April before it goes up in price.

i think thats just partly true. arrow always have special pre-order prices, but soon after release date the prices often drop even lower than that pre-order prices... for example the standard releases: 12.99 pre-order price--> 14.99 after release --> 8.99 three weeks after release in their arrow sales that happen quite often (mostly march, june, november). it was the same with special editions and steelbooks lately. so i will possibly wait before i place an order and will see if i can get them for 12.99 in summer.

by the way, the two limited editions of hellgate and hell comes to frigtown, both limited 1k, are running out of stock. so i placed an order for these instead. ;-)

Oh my goodness this is a great surprise but will pre order this from amazon.
Now if only they would do a steelbook of the People under the stairs id be happy

It was a serious bomb when it was released and pretty much critically blasted across the board.

I always loved it though.

Hey Arrow if you are watching...since you are making steelbooks of obscure 80's comedies please make these happen...

I wish Arrow would do some region free releases occasionally. There is no damn reason that a catalog title this old should be region locked.

They have no choice when it comes down to region coding

Its all down to the licence that they are given to release it

23rd June eh? Week before my birthday so i know what I'll be asking for!

Been in contact with the production company doing the bo us features and there are a LOT of interviews on this upcoming disc

^
It probably more comes down to "Do we really want to spend the extra money for a worldwide license...."

To which the obvious answer is no. They are a small UK distributor, they don't have the systems in place to sell their products abroad.
