The problem with The Exorcist, for me anyway, is that when I first watched it about 10 years ago I didn't find it scary at all. No doubt that when it was first shown it was scary but it's a film that I didn't find scary one bit, although I appreciate it as being one of horrors most defining movies.
I agree, I don't think it has aged well. Little girl cursing and vomiting is not as shocking as it used to be too :giggle:
Can't deny it's value as one of the most important horror movies of all time though.

I HATE my post man!
I had 2 parcels due today, ONE was signed for and as no one was in he left while you are out card for BOTH parcels. One was conjuring which on the card it did not say too big or needs sign! Just because I was not in to sign he sent both back to post office and now have to wait until Wednesday for re-delivery as I finish work too late to go pick it up tomorrow!

sorry rant over haha

The Exorcist is one of the best horror movies IMO and I don't think I'm alone in that thinking

The Conjuring is ok as a horror/supernatural movie and will give you a scare but its not anywhere close to the brilliance of The Exorcists

I agree there too. I am not saying The Conjuring is better than The Exorcist, but it is definitely in it's league.

I never really understood the Exorcist fascination either. Maybe it had to be seen on release but I don't find it frightening at all, quite funny infact. It's a good movie for sure but in terms of sheer horror the conjuring got under my skin a lot more.

You know, I watched The Exorcist when I was about 11 and didn't find it scary or good at all. I then rewatched it as an adult and was more terrified than when I was a child and I also loved it. This seemed strange. But the more I thought about it, it was because I understood more about it. The whole religious thing etc etc. I am not religious whatsoever, but I watched it as if I were religious and it had a great impact on me.

The Exorcist will forever be in my top 10 Horrors of all time.

What a KNOB , you would of thought he would of posted the standard Zavvi box :hilarious:

Very odd that some people have the mark exactly in the same place but others don't seem to have it at all. Either it's a very OCD problem that people are missing or it's a problem with a select batch ala the blu line on the Skyfall spine.

So anybody else got the mark/scratch on their copies?

I too received one with a horizontal line across the film title - Although interestingly, it doesn't mark the actual embossed part at all, and seems to run behind it.

So am I to assume that some people received theirs without this scratch? If so, mine's going back for a replacement! Has anyone alerted Zavvi to this defect? Are they aware of it?

Here's a corrected image Zavvi should use on their site:
