My guess, thanks to the busy artwork, would be a Matte steelbook but fingers crossed for a spot glossed crystal phallus and an embossed title.
A couple of the original posters for the film would have made for interesting front covers although I'd have chosen #2 to go with the forthcoming 4K LABYRINTH steelbook - more for the colouring than for anything else.

Great looking art! Been forever since I saw this film... mainly because the two main puppets freaked me out. 
Neverending story is the top of my list of childhood classics now labryinth and dark crystal have been. Has to be original VHS art
Would also love flight of the navigator, return to Oz and Petes dragon
This will definitely be a winner if it's gloss and the title (possibly also the crystal) is embossed.
