as stated before, this design worldwide seems to have sided more with quantity than quality.such a shame for a subdued artwork in my opinion coming from the best movie i've seen for 2012! the audio track to boot is the best head and shoulders above any other release this year i might add.it is intense from the opening scene and doesn't let up all the way through.

Can confirm these paint chips. My copy has them in the exact location as the JSDVD photo.

I don't think these are done at the manufacturing stage but at the shrinkwrap stage. My Korean one and both my HK ones are flawless. If the Asian steelbook releases are made in the same factory they should all have these paint chips.

Got the e-mail earlier today about shipping and the same picture.

Is everyone going through with the order?
I only got shipping invoice yesterday, paid and stated as always in the comments box to double check that the steelbook case is damage free etc and it looks like they shipped it today, no reply with any issues or picture as mentioned above ;)

Either way I'd grab a copy as this is the coolest version of TDKR out there ;)

I received a mail from JSDVD stating that most of steels are having paint chip issues:

Asking me if I want to cancel....

I got the same message and photo when checking out on JSDVD to pay for my shipping on the Amazing Spiderman pre-order.

Damn, that's a bad way to receive brand new steels. If mine turn up scratched like that (and seeing as they are all done by the same machine, they 99.9% will) I won't be keeping them. The slip isn't that great, and there are too many versions of DKR available to make it worth keeping substandard ones.

Well I've bitten the bullet on this and just paid for shipping.

Added a note about picking the best of what's available, but fat lot of good that will do.

It's not often I dread receiving a steelbook, but I'm petrified with this one. :ohno:

Well I received my copy today and checked it closely for the issues everybody was concerned about. And as I can tell the the sb is in mint condition. I got my order in the first day so this could be a later run but not sure. But that was the first thing I checked when I opened the box. By the way Total Recall great slipcover!!!

Got mine today as well. Didn't have time to go through everything but the first couple were :scat:

That sucks. Next time I'll wait a bit before paying for the shipping. If there are any worms that come out of the wood work I can cancel. I never got the email telling me they were defective and asking me to cancel.

I never got an email either. They even threw in a laptop case with Blu-ray marketing and DM logo as well as that special gift for every single steelbook in the order.
