and i agree with you spawnshop. They should have taken some cool retro poster of the movie and make it a nice artwork steelbook like Forbidden Planet (ES)
Like BIG, this is cheaper on Zavvi at the moment so hoping for a price drop before release. Lot of steels being released on May 12th (also my Wedding Anniversary) and I will be out of the country at that time to receive delivery

What were they thinking with this design. A film I would have purchased on the spot if they design had been up to scratch. Maybe another region will get it right.
Agreed the Forbidden Planet steelbook is a thing of Beauty, this steelbook is so plain and a disappointment, they should have gone with a movie poster instead.
Hmm, I hadn't even considered the wraparound effect before, here or on the other steels from this wave for that matter. And if any steel was suited for lots of bare metal its one for this movie...
That said, this design still doesn't wow me, especially considering the classic nature of the movie, but I don't mind it or this wave as much as I did initially. I still mind the £19 price tags, but when they drop, I'll bite.

Very disappointing!
I was hoping for some (any) embossing/debossing on this, but it looks so "flat", and at £19 I have just cancelled my order with Amazon...
Maybe if it drops to about £10-£12 I might reconsider later, but very poor effort all round!

I like it, except for the finish. Boggles my mind when they don't gloss artwork that features shiny metal.
