Q) What is the purpose of this thread?
A) To discuss Ebay policies/issues

Q) Where can i find the Ebay Presale Policy?
A) Click HERE

Q) Can a HDN Trade mod help me with an Ebay sale/trade issue? Also why is there no 'ebay bad traders' list?
A) Simply put, no. To find out why, ensure you read the following spoiler:
please use this thread as a RESOURCE to ask your fellow members about problems you've had with a reseller or questions about e-bay.

do NOT use this thread to attack or refute other members. if you an e-bay dispute with a member here, perhaps it's best to approach a trading mod before posting? we don't police e-bay, but maybe we can give you a tip or two.

if members ignore these suggestions, then the thread might be locked for a couple of weeks.

thank you.

hey folks,

as a reminder what myself (and other mods) have continued to mention via private message, e-mail and other areas. we do NOT police other trading marketplaces like ebay, youtube, amazon and the rest.

there is ONLY a certain amount of information at our disposal and we do not have the resources in these other locations as we do on this forum - things that we can look at and evaluate.

having said that, there are trading rules on this forum that have been instituted for your own protection for trading transactions that happen HERE.

this includes the pending / active sales threads, the requirement of feedback posted for any new traders, our support ticketing system, the active investigations held by trading moderators and many other things we do not discuss openly.

we have long held that problems occurring on these other forums and marketplaces should be taken the appropriate authorities on THOSE websites.

many of you are established traders here on this forum and you should know all about the guidelines that are stickied in this section - including having new traders send first, getting tracking from the other party and proof of shipment, and what other precautions can be taken to protect your trading safety.

trading via ebay and their messaging system is against their stated policy and should not occur - and there are reasons why they have created that policy. you don't have protection of paypal or their listing system as a buyer or seller.

having said that, if there is trouble with an ebay seller or buyer, you should go to their website and report it there. if you are not aware of this process, follow the below link for more information.

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/buy/report-trading.html

so folks can feel free to chat about a seller or buyer that they are having problems with, but I can tell you right now - there will not be a "witch hunt" by moderators or staff based on one person's account of the problems or trouble they are having - and we limit the action taken for or against members here to transactions that occurred on this forum.

as stated in the thread title of our bad traders list - that list is for FORUM MEMBERS ONLY.

thank you.
Q) Where can i find the HDN Buyer Beware / Bad Traders list?
A) You can find the thread HERE

UPDATE::emb:

Guys call me a NUMPTY.:emb::emb:

When i updated the thread that paypal reversed the fees it was actually to blufan84:angry:

There was no tracking number updated on the paypal account from the buyer hence why i got confused when the case got closed automatically on 09/11/12 and the payment reversed.

I was just going through emails and found one from paypal on 10/11/12 stating the case is closed in the buyers favour as he has provided a tracking number.

Just been on the phone to paypal fuming and was told that he has uploaded a tracking number (RG552688368DE) however it doesn't track into UK, for that reason the paypal rep has reopened the case and submitted it as an appeal. He is also going to be requesting a proof of postage receipt from blufan84

I will hear from paypal in 72hours.

So guys there's a possibility i will be receiving something from this scammer:angry:

UPDATE:

Ninja's received the following from SCAMMER blufan84 today:

I knew it GB that was gonna happen like I said previously - he would either send the IM that was not yours or something totally different. I never thought it would be a leaflet, what a scammer, I feel like messaging him right now and calling him a *****!!

Sunny

I can't believe it the scum sent me a leaflet. I was expecting another steel.

Hopefully PayPal has some common sense and do their homework and return my money even though technically paypal has already paid him.

I'm not shocked at all, I got screwed quite well by two eBay sellers. They took my money & NEVER sent the items. They don't reply or anything. eBay's "Buyer Protection" is PATHETIC, I have yet to hear from them. I don't care if takes months or years, I am not going to let them get away with it. I'll nag eBay if it takes forever. I refuse to be a victim.

I feel the opposite. It's so easy for buyers to scam sellers on eBay as sellers have no protection. The Buyer Protection sides with buyers the vast majority of the time. As a buyer I've never had any problems because of Buyer Protection, but as a seller I've dealt with many scammers.

I had someone buy a steelbook from me and claimed the disc was scratched and wanted me to refund him and he would return MY disc in HIS amaray ... not my steelbook. Saying I should not have sent him a steel with scratched disc. I checked it, like a smalllllll faint hairline scratch .. its a BD they are tuff, and it plays just fine still! As I refused to refund without having my steelbook back. Extortion on sellers...

Needless to say when you go on my block list you go on the HDN ebay block list too. :p And I cross check your email address in the database here at HDN. So not everyone can hide behind their ebay usernames out there ... I'm watching. ;p Treat sellers with respect as you dont know who they might be. ;)

2fast4thestreetz - Avoid this guy. He sent me 2 damaged Blade steelbooks. Returned via AirMail and seller claims that he never received them. PayPal favored the seller as package wasn't sent by tracked option and paypal doesn't expect sellers to refund cost of return shipping. PayPal won't accept photos of the package and printed certificate of posting receipt with seller's address on it as evidence. After this incident, seller made his feedbacks private.

ukmovies - Nothing wrong with the seller although they are scalpers in collector's dictionary. If you guys have been wondering why some of hot Play.com Steels went OOS so soon then you have to check out this seller. I have seen most of them being re-listed dozen times in the past 1 month.

I had a similar problem before. Paypal doesn't accept photographic evidence and sellers are under no obligation to refund the buyer's shipping cost. All Ebay can recommend if the seller doesn't refund the shipping is to leave negative feedback.

This is why i always pay ebay sellers with credit card through paypal. Should I get scammed and paypal doesn't protect me, my credit card company will.

There are always going to be bad buyers and sellers, and ebay will never be perfect.

I don't do eBay and when I have done in the past, stuff is not exactly as described or imperfections are not even mentioned.

I much prefer doing business through this forum or AVF...No hassle, piece of mind :scat:

Only over a minimum amount I think ours is £30. Below so much Credit card company dose not want to know.

Just to be on the safe side ask yours what the minimum protection limit is ;).
