Q) What is the purpose of this thread?
A) To discuss Ebay policies/issues

Q) Where can i find the Ebay Presale Policy?
A) Click HERE

Q) Can a HDN Trade mod help me with an Ebay sale/trade issue? Also why is there no 'ebay bad traders' list?
A) Simply put, no. To find out why, ensure you read the following spoiler:
please use this thread as a RESOURCE to ask your fellow members about problems you've had with a reseller or questions about e-bay.

do NOT use this thread to attack or refute other members. if you an e-bay dispute with a member here, perhaps it's best to approach a trading mod before posting? we don't police e-bay, but maybe we can give you a tip or two.

if members ignore these suggestions, then the thread might be locked for a couple of weeks.

thank you.

hey folks,

as a reminder what myself (and other mods) have continued to mention via private message, e-mail and other areas. we do NOT police other trading marketplaces like ebay, youtube, amazon and the rest.

there is ONLY a certain amount of information at our disposal and we do not have the resources in these other locations as we do on this forum - things that we can look at and evaluate.

having said that, there are trading rules on this forum that have been instituted for your own protection for trading transactions that happen HERE.

this includes the pending / active sales threads, the requirement of feedback posted for any new traders, our support ticketing system, the active investigations held by trading moderators and many other things we do not discuss openly.

we have long held that problems occurring on these other forums and marketplaces should be taken the appropriate authorities on THOSE websites.

many of you are established traders here on this forum and you should know all about the guidelines that are stickied in this section - including having new traders send first, getting tracking from the other party and proof of shipment, and what other precautions can be taken to protect your trading safety.

trading via ebay and their messaging system is against their stated policy and should not occur - and there are reasons why they have created that policy. you don't have protection of paypal or their listing system as a buyer or seller.

having said that, if there is trouble with an ebay seller or buyer, you should go to their website and report it there. if you are not aware of this process, follow the below link for more information.

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/buy/report-trading.html

so folks can feel free to chat about a seller or buyer that they are having problems with, but I can tell you right now - there will not be a "witch hunt" by moderators or staff based on one person's account of the problems or trouble they are having - and we limit the action taken for or against members here to transactions that occurred on this forum.

as stated in the thread title of our bad traders list - that list is for FORUM MEMBERS ONLY.

thank you.
Q) Where can i find the HDN Buyer Beware / Bad Traders list?
A) You can find the thread HERE

They left positive feedback but said it was not factory sealed in the feedback.

Its all good though. The more these bozos try to hurt me, the stronger I get and the more I sell. If I had a listing for every steelbook I own I would have more listings than what is on ebay right now for steelbooks. If anyone wants to get into a pricing war I say bring it on. How low can you go!!! :D

Hi Chip,

no point in sellling at a loss mate\ !! what does that prove ? or achieve ??

half these "So Called Sellers" dont even have items on -hand !!!

1st most important rule of Retail !!! Stock Is KING !!!

they are fly by nights mate !! not even worth your breath !!

and really , looking at some Ebay "buy Now Prices" ~ the majority of them are way higher than Market price , so you got nothing to worry about !!

dont wanna lecture you as you do this for long time ;)

its only been the last month & a Hlf that seems to have been a Lull in Ebay prices ??

All I can say is people are in for a rude awakening when they see prices on these skyrocket. There is no physical media to take place of blu-ray in the next decade. The next format is on a server which was anounced last week.

Folks, this is NOT the place or thread to discuss your own internal trades, disputes, or issues.

You can PM a trading mod, each other, or discuss your problem in some other fashion.

In addition, this thread is not the spot for discussing trade issues with another member here that might have occurred on e-bay and are still in the process of being resolved.

As stated previously, repeat offenders will be warned and then sanctioned if it's the same parties discussing on this thread.

Thanks in advance.

^^Guys, you were all warned about this behavior on this very same page.

If you have an e-bay dispute with a member here, this is not the place to post it.

Can't we all play nice?

ukmovies - Nothing wrong with the seller although they are scalpers in collector's dictionary. If you guys have been wondering why some of hot Play.com Steels went OOS so soon then you have to check out this seller. I have seen most of them being re-listed dozen times in the past 1 month.

I hear you, but there are members from this forum who buy considerably amount of steels to resell them on eBay, and people here don't seem to bother so... just saying.

If you are talking to me Andy it was not with a member here.

Anybody had any dealings with a buyer on eBay called ( fit-b-dog ) ??

He made a few offers on buy it now but i refused. He then contacted by email and offered to buy my FS Avengers Steelbook through PayPal invoice (Not Gift payment) instead of going through ebay to save on money. I agreed as it worked out for both of us.

If anybody has dealings with me should know I always bubble wrap my steelbooks (5 layers) then pack in a cardboard box unless I'm out of boxes it will be packed inside a Jiffy bag with 2 pieces of cardboard either side.

He now is claiming the item was received with a dent. I asked him to send me pictures, which he has however I'm not happy with the picture as its very blurred and I can't see no dent however it appears to have a paint chip instead.

I have asked him to resend me better pictures which he has agreed but he's bitching that he wants a refund otherwise he knows his right and will make a claim.

I'm 100% sure the Steelbook sent to him was MINT.

Any advice guys....:(

As non-gift payment was used and item was sold to a stranger these things do happen. When selling to strangers by non-gift option, I would strongly recommend sending invoice to the buyer clearly mentioning the terms and conditions and emailing the pictures or link to the photo album that shows the item from all angles including the packaging. Also clearly state that you won't be responsible for any damages that occur during transit despite adequate packaging. These T & C can be used for self defense in case of fradulent claims.

Under current circumstances, I would ask for pictures of the item taken from all angles to understand the problem, ask buyer to open dispute in PayPal, ask buyer to return the item for a refund and issue refund upon its receipt.

Please note that PayPal doesn't expect sellers to refund cost of return shipping.

you will loose if he opens a claim except if you are sure that the pic is not from your steelbook. what is his feed score? Incident can arrive by shipping. any insurance?

I just checked this buyers feedback.

He has 100% however he has had a problem with another seller on 20/10/12 accusing him of making a false claim after 5 days from Canada.

My item was 100% mint and packed securely.

mate,
i'm sure you are honest and if your buyer is too, he should send u back your item and you will have to refund him however you find a financial restitution. with no shipping insurance, i can't see another solution. sorry

I understand what your saying its just so annoying when he's not co-operating with me instead by sending me clear pictures instead just threatening me with his rights.

I have responded on the PayPal resolution for him to provide me pictures of the damage however he has escalated it to PayPal to decide.

I have provided a picture of the item and package.... Guess il just have to see what happens now.

He's been put on my eBay block list now anyway.

I've asked him not to take it with a flash and to insert a username in the picture.

Still refuses to listen.

effectively you can't clearly see anything.
he should provide better pics if he wants ebay to statue in his favor.
does he open a case?

Case is opened by him on PayPal and escalated for them to decide...

Will update when I have some news..

Those photos are rubbish, he/she clearly submitted those blurry pictures on purpose.

I just noticed and made my mind up.

This guy is a scammer.

I was going through his previous purchases and you can see on 19/12/12 he purchased another FS Avengers.

I believe he is trying to do me out of his damaged copy.

SCUM!!!
