Q) What is the purpose of this thread?
A) To discuss Ebay policies/issues

Q) Where can i find the Ebay Presale Policy?
A) Click HERE

Q) Can a HDN Trade mod help me with an Ebay sale/trade issue? Also why is there no 'ebay bad traders' list?
A) Simply put, no. To find out why, ensure you read the following spoiler:
please use this thread as a RESOURCE to ask your fellow members about problems you've had with a reseller or questions about e-bay.

do NOT use this thread to attack or refute other members. if you an e-bay dispute with a member here, perhaps it's best to approach a trading mod before posting? we don't police e-bay, but maybe we can give you a tip or two.

if members ignore these suggestions, then the thread might be locked for a couple of weeks.

thank you.

hey folks,

as a reminder what myself (and other mods) have continued to mention via private message, e-mail and other areas. we do NOT police other trading marketplaces like ebay, youtube, amazon and the rest.

there is ONLY a certain amount of information at our disposal and we do not have the resources in these other locations as we do on this forum - things that we can look at and evaluate.

having said that, there are trading rules on this forum that have been instituted for your own protection for trading transactions that happen HERE.

this includes the pending / active sales threads, the requirement of feedback posted for any new traders, our support ticketing system, the active investigations held by trading moderators and many other things we do not discuss openly.

we have long held that problems occurring on these other forums and marketplaces should be taken the appropriate authorities on THOSE websites.

many of you are established traders here on this forum and you should know all about the guidelines that are stickied in this section - including having new traders send first, getting tracking from the other party and proof of shipment, and what other precautions can be taken to protect your trading safety.

trading via ebay and their messaging system is against their stated policy and should not occur - and there are reasons why they have created that policy. you don't have protection of paypal or their listing system as a buyer or seller.

having said that, if there is trouble with an ebay seller or buyer, you should go to their website and report it there. if you are not aware of this process, follow the below link for more information.

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/buy/report-trading.html

so folks can feel free to chat about a seller or buyer that they are having problems with, but I can tell you right now - there will not be a "witch hunt" by moderators or staff based on one person's account of the problems or trouble they are having - and we limit the action taken for or against members here to transactions that occurred on this forum.

as stated in the thread title of our bad traders list - that list is for FORUM MEMBERS ONLY.

thank you.
Q) Where can i find the HDN Buyer Beware / Bad Traders list?
A) You can find the thread HERE

Cheers bud but you cannot win with these people as they know paypal will support their claim

Hope you get it sorted mate unfortunately expect the worse as PayPal and eBay always favour the buyer. They don't care as they are insured for these type of cases.

I am constantly adding idiots to my block list and letting Ninjas know immediately.

A Ninja here recently became a victim to a scammer that I reported a while back from Germany (blufan84) he still has an active account on eBay.

Hi all, I am a tad embarassed to say its me who has been scammed by blufan84 recently, and he did the same darn thing to gbdragon a few months back. Realised a little too late he was on this block list.

I sent him a steel, he claimed it had paintchips etc, I offered a full refund, he raised the claim on paypal (not ebay), he sent the item back with tracking number. With the tracking number, paypal gave him a full refund. I received the package, but it is nothing but an empty envelope, tracked. I am appealing the case with paypal, thanks to a little advice from gbdragon.

Live and learn, life goes on, but all ninjas out there who sell on ebay, block blufan84. In his sad words, "there is no trustment".

Watch out for theworldismyoyster69:

Buyer claims to have never received the Blu-ray even though the tracking shows it as "Delivered". Keeps requesting at least a partial refund, but ignored my request for the buyer's local post office contact info so I could call and see what happened. A look at the buyer's feedback history shows that the buyer has left only one feedback (a negative) claiming that the item wasn't received and that the seller refused to cooperate. And the last two feedback the buyer received say that the item was lost, and that the buyer had to cancel due to "financial problems".

I reported theworldismyoyster69 for feedback extortion, he/she also kept saying they would leave positive feedback if I gave a partial refund.

Just wanted to say thanks to all of you that take the time to post in this thread. It really helps when someone buys things from me and I can check here to see if they're scammers or see who to add to my block list. It's just a shame that in order to post on these guys you have to go through some kind of chaos.

I'll never understand how some people can pull scams like the ones on here when it's ultimately just one guy selling things as opposed to a fully fledged company. :(

Eh - why would he ask for partial refund if he claims he never received it !!

My Ebay > Account > Site Preferences > Buyer requirements > Edit > Scroll down and click on blocked list > Enter nicknames you wish to block > Submit > done.

OR click here: (make sure you're logged in first)

Some good news for eBay sellers starting April May:scat: Looks like eBay are getting the message slowly:

Faster resolution of unpaid item cases

How it works

From April, if you don't receive payment for an item, you can open an unpaid item case against the buyer as early as 2 days, or up to 32 days, after the listing has ended.
Once the case is open, the buyer has 4 days to respond constructively or pay. If the buyer doesn’t do either of these things, you can manually close the case as early as 4 days after you opened the case, or up to 36 days after the listing has ended.
After closing the case, you can receive a refund on the final value fee paid on the original listing. You can then relist and sell the item to another buyer.
If you don't close the unpaid item case, it expires on the 37th day after the listing has ended, and you won't receive a final value fee credit.

Feedback removed if seller wins an eBay Buyer Protection case

From May, if you win an eBay Buyer Protection case, any Feedback left by the buyer that
raised the case will be removed automatically and excluded from your seller performance evaluation. This includes Feedback scores, comments and detailed seller ratings.

Feedback will be removed when a case is found in your favour and a buyer doesn't get a refund.

This is another example of how we’re trying to protect sellers against unfair buyer Feedback on eBay.co.uk.

I got Zimmer 1408 from a seller on eBay. It came opened and with paint chips. I opened a PayPal claim and decided to close it. I closed it b/c I couldn't order the Indiana Jones steels from Zavvi, I thought the claim was preventing me. It turned out it was a different issue. I wish I didn't close the case b/c, when a I took a closer the spine was slightly bent due to dents. I wish I would have noticed it earlier. I spent nearly $200 US dollars for a Steelbook that ain't worth s*!% now.

Seriously, this is why I hate having to buy steels on eBay. I prefer to deal with HONEST ninjas.
Sorry for the rant, but I felt like venting. More than a $100 US dollars just went down the toilet.

Just been through this thread and up to NOW, this is the full list of everyone mentioned so far as a potential or confirmed bad eBayer. Obviously if there's someone that shouldn't be on there by all means let a mod or myself know and we can edit it out.
