Q) What is the purpose of this thread?
A) To discuss Ebay policies/issues

Q) Where can i find the Ebay Presale Policy?
A) Click HERE

Q) Can a HDN Trade mod help me with an Ebay sale/trade issue? Also why is there no 'ebay bad traders' list?
A) Simply put, no. To find out why, ensure you read the following spoiler:
please use this thread as a RESOURCE to ask your fellow members about problems you've had with a reseller or questions about e-bay.

do NOT use this thread to attack or refute other members. if you an e-bay dispute with a member here, perhaps it's best to approach a trading mod before posting? we don't police e-bay, but maybe we can give you a tip or two.

if members ignore these suggestions, then the thread might be locked for a couple of weeks.

thank you.

hey folks,

as a reminder what myself (and other mods) have continued to mention via private message, e-mail and other areas. we do NOT police other trading marketplaces like ebay, youtube, amazon and the rest.

there is ONLY a certain amount of information at our disposal and we do not have the resources in these other locations as we do on this forum - things that we can look at and evaluate.

having said that, there are trading rules on this forum that have been instituted for your own protection for trading transactions that happen HERE.

this includes the pending / active sales threads, the requirement of feedback posted for any new traders, our support ticketing system, the active investigations held by trading moderators and many other things we do not discuss openly.

we have long held that problems occurring on these other forums and marketplaces should be taken the appropriate authorities on THOSE websites.

many of you are established traders here on this forum and you should know all about the guidelines that are stickied in this section - including having new traders send first, getting tracking from the other party and proof of shipment, and what other precautions can be taken to protect your trading safety.

trading via ebay and their messaging system is against their stated policy and should not occur - and there are reasons why they have created that policy. you don't have protection of paypal or their listing system as a buyer or seller.

having said that, if there is trouble with an ebay seller or buyer, you should go to their website and report it there. if you are not aware of this process, follow the below link for more information.

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/buy/report-trading.html

so folks can feel free to chat about a seller or buyer that they are having problems with, but I can tell you right now - there will not be a "witch hunt" by moderators or staff based on one person's account of the problems or trouble they are having - and we limit the action taken for or against members here to transactions that occurred on this forum.

as stated in the thread title of our bad traders list - that list is for FORUM MEMBERS ONLY.

thank you.
Q) Where can i find the HDN Buyer Beware / Bad Traders list?

Ok, so I got The Godfather metal slips through, I was jut being overly paranoid. However, Parts II and III both contain damage on the cases. Part 2 has scratches on the front and a small scratch on the back along with what sounds like a loose disc, and Part 3 has a scratch on the back and what sounds like a broken disc holder and loose disc rolling around inside. Here are some images of the scratches:

The seller is claiming these must have happened in transit, but I don't think there's anyway such damage could happen in transit, they were packed tightly, wrapped in bubble wrap, placed inside a jiffy which went inside a big box with loads of bubble wrap.

What do you guys think? Bearing in mind I paid £55 for these, should I return them or are they worth that even with the damage?

I think whats happened buddy is that he has sent you the duff copies because they sold for a low price. If they were sold higher you would had got the mint copies. If the items are packed well it is difficult for steels to be damaged in the condition of those photos.

Quick question please!

Is it safe to send an item to a PO BOX address if the postage is tracked.

I normally block PO box customers on eBay listing however this one slipped through and its showing an Australian PO box address.

Thank you

Sorry mods if this is not applicable for this thread.

You can but you have to tell the post office that it is going to a po box. They will use a different international delivery tracked service it costs about £2 more but worth it for the peace of mind.
Is it going to a buyer called Rocky Versace?

Thanks for the reply Terry.

The buyer is a female Angela Nyenhuis from Australia.

Ninja's

Quick update:

This buyer has opened a case with eBay today after leaving me negative feedback.

I will update the outcome so be warned if you are selling to him.

Ninja's

Need some advice.

As you guys are aware im undergoing paypal case with this buyer from India.

Current update he has sent me pics of a Steelbook similar to mine (Terminator 2 UK) but has a Nasty dent and the spine totally damaged. The J Card has been also cut to fit in his album so he claims.

My Steelbook that I sent him was 100% mint and sealed. He wants a partial refund £25.

My dilemma is how do I prove to eBay that this item isn't mine.

Should I give him the partial refund even though he has left me negative feedback, ask him to send it back so he incurs some loss or chance it and let Ebay decide ??

most people who ask for "partial" refunds are already shady imo... if i received something that was honestly damaged, i would ask for a full refund, no hassle nada. I just went through this as a buyer and received a damaged steel, got my money back AND the seller paid for the shipping back to her.

in your case dragon, i would send paypal or ebay claims pics of your steel prior to shipping and try to fight it first. If it does go south, the buyers only choice to get any money back would be to send it back and tracked. Either way imo i dont think he can win this

Probably the wrong thread, but need to mention this for the benefit :hilarious: of the buyers here:

In any trade / purchase with gbdragon, please ask him for an instruction manual on opening his packages. Else, please keep aside 20 mins of your time in opening them to get to your steelies! :naughty: :D

gb - you are a legend mate! :scat:

Thanks buddy but at least you know I don't take short cuts to disappoint any of my ninja friends when it comes to securing Steelbooks.

The buyer from India well he tells a different story oh well! I have asked him to return the item for a full refund. Funny how eBay sends a generic email stating the 'buyer contacted them and they have found the case in his favour'... Life goes on!

An update on this clown, I messaged him about the damage and this is what he said, verbatim (so don't blame me for the mis-spelled words :p:

"There insured for £50 with first class ill send you the receipt and you can take it up with Royal Mail. Because I sent them in perfect condition. And fair enough there is a slight chance I missed a scratch but loose discs definitely not.
And I certainly don't want damaged goods back as I have no way of knowing your not sending me back ones you have had already.
And my listing states I will not be responsible for damage caused in post"

I mean seriously, are people REALLY stupid enough to think putting "I will not be held responsible for any damaged caused in the post" covers them? The seller is responsible for ensuring the steel arrives with the buyer in the condition it was sold, just like when Amazon or Zavvi sell items to us. And the fact that he blames RM for damage which is obviously not as a result of postal handling shows me how little this guy actually knows about the steels he collects and sells. So I replied back to say that I was opening a case with ebay as I am not going to just accept "Take it up with RM" as an answer to this problem. He then replied with this:

"Send them back. You absolute lying twat. They are going to be your damaged old goods. I just don't want to not deal with your stupid ignorant ass anymore.
Your a lying prick. And leave all the negative feedback you want I don't give a ****. Your the only one out of the 200 steelbooks I sold to give me any trouble.
Your a lying rude twat and I just don't want to have to deal with you anymore. Send them back and I'll refund your money. In fact send all the ones you won back as I don't want a lying prick like you having them"

It honestly baffles me how people on the internet think that they are able to say whatever they want with repercussions. I don't let my friends and family talk to me like that, never mind some punk kid on the internet. The funny thing is, within 10 minutes of receiving that message I then received a message from ebay saying that the he'd offered me a £15 partial refund for the items. I accepted the offer, as that takes the price paid for them down to £40 and even with the damage they're worth at least that much. But that isn't the end of it, He will be getting reported to ebay and I will do all I can to make sure they either ban him from ebay or punish him in some other way. If he would've just accepted responsibility from the start then fair enough, but he was a dick right from the off so now it's my turn to be a dick.
