Q) What is the purpose of this thread?
A) To discuss Ebay policies/issues

Q) Where can i find the Ebay Presale Policy?
A) Click HERE

Q) Can a HDN Trade mod help me with an Ebay sale/trade issue? Also why is there no 'ebay bad traders' list?
A) Simply put, no. To find out why, ensure you read the following spoiler:
please use this thread as a RESOURCE to ask your fellow members about problems you've had with a reseller or questions about e-bay.

do NOT use this thread to attack or refute other members. if you an e-bay dispute with a member here, perhaps it's best to approach a trading mod before posting? we don't police e-bay, but maybe we can give you a tip or two.

if members ignore these suggestions, then the thread might be locked for a couple of weeks.

thank you.

hey folks,

as a reminder what myself (and other mods) have continued to mention via private message, e-mail and other areas. we do NOT police other trading marketplaces like ebay, youtube, amazon and the rest.

there is ONLY a certain amount of information at our disposal and we do not have the resources in these other locations as we do on this forum - things that we can look at and evaluate.

having said that, there are trading rules on this forum that have been instituted for your own protection for trading transactions that happen HERE.

this includes the pending / active sales threads, the requirement of feedback posted for any new traders, our support ticketing system, the active investigations held by trading moderators and many other things we do not discuss openly.

we have long held that problems occurring on these other forums and marketplaces should be taken the appropriate authorities on THOSE websites.

many of you are established traders here on this forum and you should know all about the guidelines that are stickied in this section - including having new traders send first, getting tracking from the other party and proof of shipment, and what other precautions can be taken to protect your trading safety.

trading via ebay and their messaging system is against their stated policy and should not occur - and there are reasons why they have created that policy. you don't have protection of paypal or their listing system as a buyer or seller.

having said that, if there is trouble with an ebay seller or buyer, you should go to their website and report it there. if you are not aware of this process, follow the below link for more information.

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/buy/report-trading.html

so folks can feel free to chat about a seller or buyer that they are having problems with, but I can tell you right now - there will not be a "witch hunt" by moderators or staff based on one person's account of the problems or trouble they are having - and we limit the action taken for or against members here to transactions that occurred on this forum.

as stated in the thread title of our bad traders list - that list is for FORUM MEMBERS ONLY.

thank you.
Q) Where can i find the HDN Buyer Beware / Bad Traders list?
A) You can find the thread HERE

i don't know if you can remember my case but ebay has stated today. i had never received any reply of the buyer. This is what ebay says:

A case has been opened because the buyer has an issue with an item purchased from you. We've reviewed the case and have decided to issue the buyer with a full refund of £38.25. The hold on this PayPal transaction has been removed.

This case is now closed. You aren't required to reimburse the buyer or eBay, and this case will not be counted in your seller performance evaluation

if so can explain me what that means...

thanks

This is a absolute JOKE EEK! He wins the items leaves POSITIVE feedback sells the stuff on then claims the money back EEK! UTTER SCUM name a shame this THIEF!!!!!

I thought at least after a buyer as received goods and sent the positive feedback you would be safe, obviously not EBAY is a disgrace

I'm confused too. Have ebay/paypal refunded the buyer? Or have they asked/charged you to refund the buyer?

If they have taken money from you, I would appeal this case immediately. Absolutely shocking.

C'est un scandale... Ca ne vaut pas grand chose, mais je compatis avec toi, Laurent...
Ebay a des réactions et des jugements qui défient tout entendement, quelques fois !

What he said:naughty:.

On a serious note did PayPal ever contact you when the claim was put in surely they did?

Then you should of replied I will give a refund once goods will be returned in that case he hasn't the goods case closed :D

I would get this sorted soon as if I was you it is FRAUD you been mugged off by PAYPAL/EBAY/BUYER

Who is the buyer?

Not exactly, cause the second buyer returns the damaged item to the first buyer and he returns it to Laurent:(

AND there is a second possibility:he returns an empty box!!!

That's probably the most ridiculous thing I've seen eBay do. You sell an item, buyer receives and leaves positive feedback. Buyer turns around sells to another buyer. Buyer #2 opens the item and it is not mint (which is not something visible when wrapped), tells Buyer #1 that he wants refund. Buyer #1 turns around and says "hey seller this item is not mint, I want refund." Ebay turns around and gives refund.

Lol tell me how eBay are not out there to screw sellers? This is probably the most unbelievable case I've seen. Just wow. :p

I could very well be reading this completely wrong, but the way I seem to be interpreting the email is that eBay has refunded the buyer without a recourse to grospaquet31. Why they would do that, I have no idea; did they actually do that or will they charge grospaquet31 the £38.25, I guess we'll know in a day or two; does their action make any sense or is it even within the boundaries of a fair trade - absolutely not!

Either way this CASE is shocking to say the least.

:angry::angry::angry:

Great items as described. Packaging excellent. Great seller. A+++++ Seller: laurent31300

This is the feedback the buyer left ....HOW THE HELL AS HE GOT A PARTIAL...;( it confirms he as checked the goods everything fine .....so how the hell as he got a refund? TOTAL FARCE.

Sorry mate ;(

The buyer needs to be put on everyone's block list I noticed he as bought from another member on here.

I have a small problem with a seller on ebay (Anomaly777) here I bought him a steelbook worth $ 300 and the shipping costs in addition to that $ 40. It turns out that I was hit by customs.
So I asked the seller how he had said, he replied he said $ 300, so I would like to know how much should I expect to pay customs fees?
I still understand why he said so, certe I did not ask him said less but it seems obvious. I never had any problems with all the people I have dealt either here or ebay and this is the only vendor that says about me as a package worth $ 300.
I'm frustrated

Thank you in advance

I have had no issues dealing with Anomaly777 although I had ask him to ship to US address so that they can be forwarded to me. Of course there are few items that is priced ridiculously high but that doesn't make him a bad seller. Just my opinion.

I have finally encountered a problem in eBay. Bought Lawless Play.com SB sealed. The back of the case appears to be damaged as I hear too much flexing sound even when gently pressed. I opened a case as seller never responded for more than 10 days and got a reply saying that nothing can be done about it. Looks like I have to live with it although I cannot give the seller any benefit of the doubt as the sound is so obvious and to me it looks like that seller knew about the issue but didn't mention fearing item not as described claim.

I just want to know if anyone's copy produces this sound especially on the back when rubbing your fingers through it.

Note that I did not say it was a poor seller.
It continues to talk for a arrengement.
The trouble is that I expect to pay a large sum of customs fees with this bullshit :(
If the sum is too large can I withdraw?

Thank you in advance

I believe the package can be refused and sent back to the sender, however as the item has been purchased through eBay seller I'm not sure how you are going to get him to refund you.

I am contemplating quitting eBay had a few problems on there I sold my Super8 HMV Sealed steelbook for £16+£3.50 postage via 'Buy it now' messaged the sender they said they no longer wanted the item which I accepted and relisted the item then another member from the same house hold as there's bought the item I got sent the same message But accepted it and relisted I then had negative feedback left saying I was a 'discredit to ebay' I opened a case a month ago to have the negative feedback removed have pestered eBay about it and still nothing done.

To top it off Sold my dads rare coin in which the buyer received as she listed the item for sale as a ridiculous price she opened a case saying she did not receive it ebay took there side even though she has listed the coin I sent and im now £55 out of pocket.

eBay is becoming one big massive scam especially if your they buyer

What winds me up is scammers taking advantage of eBay/PayPal buyer protection policy and nothing is being done and they don't care because their insured to cover these losses.

I had an ongoing case with a scammer from Germany who sent me an empty envelope instead of my Steelbook. He also scammed another member on here.

Guess what he's still selling on eBay...

I've had one seller he may be on here stephenjb11 sold me a metal slip which was clearly damaged which had a 3 inch scratch on the front ,a dent paint chip at the front ,2 dents at the side as well ......all he did was apolgise really annoying as the damage was obvious.

He is selling some more stuff now a avengers viva box which looking at the slip also looks damaged nothing mentioned.

He as lots of positives just my negative ,as it was granted due to being falsely advertised to get the extra £££ worse condition steel I have ever received.
