Q) What is the purpose of this thread?
A) To discuss Ebay policies/issues

Q) Where can i find the Ebay Presale Policy?
A) Click HERE

Q) Can a HDN Trade mod help me with an Ebay sale/trade issue? Also why is there no 'ebay bad traders' list?
A) Simply put, no. To find out why, ensure you read the following spoiler:
please use this thread as a RESOURCE to ask your fellow members about problems you've had with a reseller or questions about e-bay.

do NOT use this thread to attack or refute other members. if you an e-bay dispute with a member here, perhaps it's best to approach a trading mod before posting? we don't police e-bay, but maybe we can give you a tip or two.

if members ignore these suggestions, then the thread might be locked for a couple of weeks.

thank you.

hey folks,

as a reminder what myself (and other mods) have continued to mention via private message, e-mail and other areas. we do NOT police other trading marketplaces like ebay, youtube, amazon and the rest.

there is ONLY a certain amount of information at our disposal and we do not have the resources in these other locations as we do on this forum - things that we can look at and evaluate.

having said that, there are trading rules on this forum that have been instituted for your own protection for trading transactions that happen HERE.

this includes the pending / active sales threads, the requirement of feedback posted for any new traders, our support ticketing system, the active investigations held by trading moderators and many other things we do not discuss openly.

we have long held that problems occurring on these other forums and marketplaces should be taken the appropriate authorities on THOSE websites.

many of you are established traders here on this forum and you should know all about the guidelines that are stickied in this section - including having new traders send first, getting tracking from the other party and proof of shipment, and what other precautions can be taken to protect your trading safety.

trading via ebay and their messaging system is against their stated policy and should not occur - and there are reasons why they have created that policy. you don't have protection of paypal or their listing system as a buyer or seller.

having said that, if there is trouble with an ebay seller or buyer, you should go to their website and report it there. if you are not aware of this process, follow the below link for more information.

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/buy/report-trading.html

so folks can feel free to chat about a seller or buyer that they are having problems with, but I can tell you right now - there will not be a "witch hunt" by moderators or staff based on one person's account of the problems or trouble they are having - and we limit the action taken for or against members here to transactions that occurred on this forum.

as stated in the thread title of our bad traders list - that list is for FORUM MEMBERS ONLY.

thank you.
Q) Where can i find the HDN Buyer Beware / Bad Traders list?
A) You can find the thread HERE

Because he doesn't have to simple as that he doesn't have to, Other people on here,AV forums and BR.com do it all the time give the guy a break.

I have no problem with people doing that. The problem is posting here as if selling for an inflated price is somehow doing a member a favour and rubbing it in the faces of people who missed out.

Because frankly I need the money.
I put it here as its about this product and so people know if they are looking towards ebay for a purchase they aren't getting taken advantage of.
Its not speculation, it has been confirmed and ebay are dealing with it.

This forum isn't for advertising your eBay auctions. You shouldn't be naming eBay members here either, whether your allegations are true or not.

I am sorry for trying to warn other members and trying to stop this douche ripping people off, I am not rubbing it in anyones face (it took me 3 weeks of constantly refreshing to get 1 copy).
I wasn't trying to advertise my auctions here, there is no need ebay is a big place and people have sense to check it.

If I shouldn't name them here then where??

Got rid of the members name (primary profile and secondary) as not to go against the rules

I listed 2 of my orders of GI JOE up on ebay as I had 2 people cancel their orders with me.

there is however one person on ebay bidding up their own listing and also sabotaging others by putting it up to a ridiculous price.. mine was up to £60 but I cancelled the bids so it went back down.

I have been warning other sellers of this on ebay too and we have reported him to ebay.

Ebay says they have dealt with it but he is still a member and is still got his item listed up to £45 by doing this tactic with a secondary account.

But surely your in breach of ebay rules listing an item too soon? (Im presuming its g.i.joe)

I have a question about eBay and scalpers. Why are people against it. Isn't the art of business buying stuff cheap and selling them for profit. That's what business is all about.

I can see both views, from a collectors view its that extra copy could have been the one they missed out on and now have to pay an inflated price.

The other view is to get some money back and pay for your own copy possibly. If i see any on ebay i list it at the lowest price as near to cost as i can and sm happy with a quid made, but know some people are more greedy

It's because people want a fair shot at at getting the item for as cheap as possible. If one person buys up all the stock, it will inflate the price.

Although the same exact thing goes on here.. so I don't really know what the gripe is.

then there is the ebay fees and the paypal fees...
so you don't make too much

But its the collector then who pays.

I brought Die Hard 5 for a fellow ninja and made nothing out the deal, then see it on ebay for £35.! Does that make me a fool?

Ah thanks, i dont see the point of making a profit out of fellow ninjas, you never know when they may do you a solid in return

I agree.

I had some aside for some friends who then all backed out and took their money with them.

I needed the cash so I put their copies on ebay, yet some people are having a fit about it...

Anybody know who donna29 is on eBay?
There seems to be a few pictures of steels she's selling taken from HDN. Plus I had to ask her to remove one of my photos a while back from her listing.

She also has JR and WIW Blufans for sale...

EDIT: Found out who it is guys..

eddy-k22 - Please exercise caution when dealing with this eBayer. Recently I purchased few 4 Steelbooks described as Like New and 3 of them got issues.

2 has a minor dent on the bottom right hand corner.

1 has many paint chips. All the Steelbooks were poly bagged and put inside a jiffy envelope with loads of cardboard packaging surrounding it. There is no way of these kind of paint chips can be picked up during transit when the packaging was received in perfect condition.

Seller has accused me of buying some bootleg copy and changing the item, and has now blamed the carrier. Worst part is the seller mentions that I am selling some Steelbooks which doesn't look like Steelbooks at all.

I am having quite a number of issues with sellers who aren't describing the items properly and not inspecting them prior to sending. In the event of seller missing something which happens at times including myself, the seller doesn't take responsibility despite knowing the truth and tries to hide the facts by giving loads of excuses, becoming argumentative and defensive.

Have now opened case for a partial refund as seller doesn't accept returns. Let's see how this goes.:(

Edit: Seller has offered partial refund. So all good now. Case closed.
