Good review mate, big jcvd fan so will be nice seeing him back in a big movie and as I know what to expect now from the first movie I think I'll be able to enjoy this a little more for what it is .

The problem is I don't think people 'got' the film. It's not meant to be a good film, it's not meant to be well made and have fantastic acting/dialogue. It's a homage to the awesome crappy action movies of the 80's, just like the first Bad acting, bad dialogue, over-the-top explosions and action, it was bloody awesome

Good review mate but disagree on the video part as it looks very average for a recent release. Too much digital grading going on there. SQ is just okay. Nothing great to rave about except for the 11.1 gimmick.

Everyone is different though when it comes to opinions. I'm not saying that for the AV enthusiast that its a perfect disc as its not, but for me personally I was more than happy with it

The PQ for me looked very grainy and soft at the cinema and not as sharp as it should've done for a new release, but perhaps this was intentional? Same for the audio, I thought it was great.

As I'm sure you're well aware, I'm not as anal as most and am very lenient and give my own honest opinion

Completely agree that we are united and divided because of difference in opinions. To me, the PQ was poor. I am sure it was intentional and faithful to its theatrical presentation but it is not good enough to earn top marks.

I don't know what's with Lionsgate / Stallone as they seem to notch up the audio on the extended / director's cut and make it sound better. They already did this on Rambo and Expendables and am sure Expendables 2 will follow suit.

I'm not sure we'll see a DC of Ex 2 as the Expendables DC was mentioned by Stallone pretty much as soon as the original Blu-Ray was released and its a Simon West film rather than being directed by Stallone.

However, I'd welcome a directors cut

Cooey did you see on the behind the scenes there was a shot of all the Expendables in front of the Helicopter. The part where their waiting on Van Damme to arrive at the airport. It had Chuck Norris standing and shooting along with the rest of the cast.
Looked badass to have all of them shooting in 1 shot

Very nice. Great inside artwork and nice disc-artwork. Plus the front cover has a border without embossing. So the lenticular card from the Hero-pack will nicely fit.

So Hero-pack best choice.

It seems that a printed back is now a requirement for 99% of German releases, I don't know, maybe they have a national shortage of cardboard to put this information onto.

I don't think so... Warner, Sony and Paramount steelbooks have always a clean back.

But I'm not sure about the upcoming Skyfall release.... All steelbooks from 20th Century Fox had in Germany a printed back until now...
